battlefield isnt a “family friendly” game like The Sims. And what does a telemetry API have to do with being family friendly?
they are making a VR Game for the first time with HOTAS support and is partially considered a simulator. Have you seen Jack Frags’ review from last week?
@E3NBF the world is evolving 😉
I am defining family friend as a game that is easy to play, not difficult gameplay and affordable to play, so telemetry API don't have place inside EA games.
And if you had such hardware, you will have an advantage that the majority don't, so it will not be an affordable way to play anymore.
This claim will be likely accepted by Star Citizen than Star Wars.
@szigetlaki Indeed, but the R&D around game controllers should be highly controlled with authorities such as USB-IF and Microsoft.
That's why I don't like the actual state of VR hardware, it goes everywhere and nowhere in the same time, it's the jungle lolThats a false assumption. With motion in sim racing, I actually do WORSE than i do without motion on. But I love it for the IMMERSION factor only.
Probably, but actually there is a proof that dedicated hardware are more OP than traditional hardware on Star Citizen around dogfight.
@E3NBF totally agree 🙂 There is Open XR as a new standard supported by most of the big players, that is promising, but still in early stage. I believe in 2-3 years this area will be much more developed and I have no doubt AR/VR will be part of our everyday life in a few years.
First, this isn't anywhere close to the depth of ED or Star Citizen.
Second, they already gave HOTAS Support to SW: Squadrons... So does that mean anyone with a HOTAS will have an advantage on players using an Xbox Controller? EA gave HOTAS support already, so that would mean your point was just nullified anyway if thats the case then those with HOTAS will have the advantage from what you're saying.
Third, Motion Rigs have nothing to do with gaining an advantage - its mainly about getting more immersion.
I dont know how you can gain an advantage with motion on in space, than without it... I can see that in sim racing if you're really good and on a pro level, that motion may give you cues of when your car is slipping or losing traction maybe so that you can fix it before it happens, but I found that I was able to tell the same cues through my wheel, before I had motion any way.
In Space flight, i dont get how my motion simulator will give me an advantage in dogfights with other players.
- We will see how it goes after the release.
JAJA, WHY YOU SAID THAT
