I don't know why the mouse can't just be direct input. Is this the only input method with a cursor? Dragging a cursor to move the aiming reticule on delay is just not working. And then trying to center the mouse again (without mashing center mouse button every few seconds) is almost impossible. The reticule just jumps around the screen.
