Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Scud_himself
Are you playing in VR? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Other
Please explain 'Other' General in game
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. Trying to begin playing after game launches using only a Thrustmaster HOTAS One controller
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. At the very beginning after game has loaded.
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 02/10/2020
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? I can select the game on xbox mygames and load it. Then immediately the game says to push A on the controller. If controller is Thrustmaster HOTAS One at this point, then pressing A does nothing until you turn on a standard Xbox controller. If you press A on the Xbox controller the game will start and you can play using HOTAS, but if you switch off the Xbox controller, a screen pops up to tell you to reconnect the controller and press A. So basically you cant play the game using HOTAS unless a standard Xbox controller is also switched on. In my case the battery ran out on my only Xbox controller so I’m waiting for it to recharge before I can play, even though I have a HOTAS wired in via USB. When the battery dies again on the Xbox controller, the game will stop and ask me to press A on the controller which I cant do as the HOTAS is not recognised without a standard Xbox controller switched on.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to use the HOTAS One as a stand alone controller in game and not have to have a standard xbox controller switched on too.
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." None
What components were you using? I have installed on both Xbox One and Xbox One X with Thrustmaster HOTAS One controller
Which customizations (if any) were you using? None

I have the same problem except when the fighter launches into play my hotas goes dead, even if the standard controler os on and connected. The controls switch back form the Thrustmaster to the standard controler when entering flight mode, nothing I have tried keeps the Thrustmaster working.

+1 to Scott's detailed description. Same issue here.

O think its an xbox issue too this because if you go to settings , accessories it can recognize just the xbox controller but not the hotas alone, it may be an update with xbox and thrustmaster because this controllers probably will be availeble to use on Series X, and a lot of hotas games will be played there so the soon they do an "Hotas Acessories page" the better

A workaround for longer playing is to plugin the controller to the xbox directly or via a usb 3.0 hub it won't shut off for being idle while you use the t flight. It sucks I know but at least that way during a dogfight you don't have to keep turning on the controller and hitting A. It seems to be more of a problem with EA login than the game since you can still fly while the reconnect screen is up. This problem doesn't exist on pc with a flight stick. I updated the t flight firmware using a pc to try everything to get it to work like it does in other games like ED.
