Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost.

Hi,

I'm having problems with Star wars jedi - Fallen Order.

I can't seem to run the game. I cannot even stay in the menu of the game without it crashing after a couple of minutes.

Error message:

I have a brand new gaming setup:

Ryzen 5 3100

GTX 2060

16Gig RAM

So the specs should not be the problem.

I have tried the following:

Fresh install most recent drivers

Fresh install older drivers

Disable full screen optimalisation

Lower all the graphics settings

Run in borderless mode

Contacted Nvidia support for my card, but they also don't know what to do.

Disabled geforce experience

GPU in Debug mode

Updated motherboard/BIOS

Stress tested GPU and CPU (no problems found)

Tried several configurations with Nvidia control panel

Does anybody have a clue what else i could try to get this game running. I heard something about the latest Microsoft updates being horrible for gaming? Does anyone have that experience?

    Hi @wesselvs9849,

    You might have better luck locking the FPS in the Nvidia Control Panel under Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings - Jedi Fallen Order. Make sure you have Vertical Sync set as ON and set Max Frame Rate accordingly.

    Thanks for the reply. I tried your solution but i'm sorry to say that this didn't resolve the issue.

    Also with the V-sync turned on and the max frame rate at 60FPS the game is crashing and the same error message is shown.

    No i'm runing the original setup and i have a regular 2060 not a OC version or something.

    Also tried running in Debug mode in the Nvidia control panel with the same results.

    Even when i play at a lower resolution and the setting on low it still happens

    Hi, 

    I have tried ddu multiple times and installed several versions of the nvidia drivers. Newest/few weeks old/months old. But all give the same result unfortunately

    @EA_Cade 

    Same issue still. But i did some more testing. And i'm able to run the game when i start the game in windowed mode with a small window size.

    When i increase the window size to about 75% the game starts crashing again.

    This goes for all graphics settings.

    Ok so I did some more testing and I think it has to do with the resolution. I can run this game windowed in a lower resultion?? Is this a known issue?

    Sorry for the delay, was out of office. I've not seen that issue before, is it still occurring?
