unwanted z-axis binding can't be removed in briefing room controls

Product: Star Wars: Squadrons
Platform:Steam-PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Moginheden
Are you playing in VR? Yes
Which VR Platform are you using? Oculus Rift
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Hangar / Briefing Room
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. I have an old Logitech extreme 3d pro joystick. It has begun to drift slightly on the z-axis. This is not a problem when I'm moving the stick constantly in a dogfight, but it's hard to keep it exactly steady. In the briefing room I have set the controls to use the x and y axis to look around (and since I'm in VR really I shouldn't need to touch the joystick at all.) The z-axis is not mapped to anything. Despite the z-axis not being mapped, it is still being used by the game to turn left and right. Since my joystick's z-axis drifts this means I'm constantly fighting with it in the briefing room just to stay looking straight ahead.
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. Every briefing room.
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 20.10.20 20:00
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? My view constantly spins very slowly. Trying to fight it is annoying and I'm getting motion sick within minutes of entering a briefing room. If I twist the z-axis left my view turns left, if I twist the z-axis right the view turns right. It should not as this is NOT bound in the controls. Left-right turning also works on the y-axis that I did map in the controls.
What do you expect to see? Since the z-axis is not mapped in the controls it should do nothing. If the z-axis was properly ignored when un-bound then my view wouldn't spin.
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." none
What components were you using? none
Which customizations (if any) were you using? none

The control bindings should show all the bindings that are used.  My z-axis being bound to look-left/right is NOT in my list of bindable controls.

I have tried adding a 50% deadzone to every available axis in the controls, but that doesn't do anything, (presumably it only works in flight when I don't need a deadzone?)
