DICE TeamI have questions about match penalties. Unfortunately, I'd say about half of the matches ive played in the last few days have had a leaver either on my team or the enemy team. One night in particular I had two matches in a row where someone left before the match even started. In the menu, it said something to the effect of there being no penalty and that it is SAFE TO LEAVE. However, when I tried to find another match, it gave me a warning about leaver penalties if I didn't rejoin the previous (that said it was safe to leave). I figured this was just an automatic message, and since it said i was "safe to leave", i proceeded to find a new match. I came to learn after that fact that I experienced a significant percentage loss in my ranking (about 20-25% of my current tier). How can the match tell me that I would not face penalties and stated very clearly that it was SAFE TO LEAVE but then go ahead and penalize me anyway? Very misleading.
I have no problem playing out a game even if we are down a player or two (space battles are not always even hehe). I only left because it clearly stated safe to leave. I've had other matches where someone left mid match and it did not say safe to leave, so i stayed on those accordingly. It's just very annoying that I followed what the game told me clearly (safe to leave) and I was still penalized for it. Leavers are becoming a serious issue in the rankings so I full heartedly support negative consequences for leavers, but please make it more clear or dont say safe to leave if we will be penalized anyway....
