As the title says, Can you add PC VR performance to the list of knows issues?
Its being documented over many forums and over many different system and headset Types. It seems to be luck of the draw if you can run the game at a playable FPS in VR.
This will also show that you know of the issue and are looking for a fix. I think its at least what the community deserve as a lot of people have paid for this game with the impression of it being playable in VR.

Same here !!
My System I7 9700 RTX 2080... Squadrons are not playable in VR FPS drops like Hell. Mid 60Fps most of the time
With Low Graphic Settings i get 90 Fps sometimes

same, ryzen 2700x with a 2080 ti and I get 35-40 fps on auto VR settings
actually got my VR headset just for this game :/ kinda bummed right now. 100+ fps at 4k on my main screen, yet 30 fps in VR

i9-10900k, RTX 2080Ti, VR High and it runs awful. I'm using an Oculus Rift CV1, but have the HP Reverb G2 ordered. If I can't even get good performance on the Rift's resolution, I can only imagine what the G2 will be like.
Oculus's AWS can't even save it.
When I used to play Elite Dangerous with my 1080, AWS would kick in and the only way I knew was the reticle would be ghosting. In this game, when it kicks in, it still looks like it's dropping frames. I turned it off and verified that I'm getting below 90 FPS. No enemies, in the practice area.

Similar issues here. Only in fleet battles though. After about 2-8 minutes at full fps 90hz it drops to 20-30 fps and is unplayable. Exiting game mode and everything is back to normal. All other modes runs good enough, only FB that gives issues.

Until EA says otherwise, acknowledges everyone is actually experiencing this, and flat out tells us that a real fix is actually coming, I have assumed this is a limitation of allowing crossplay with this engine. The game is only functioning at 60fps tops, regardless of the duped frames it sends out to match your monitor/hmd.
EA STOP BEING SILENT AND TALK TO US ABOUT THIS

Please specify your platform model. PC
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? 2RoBerg
Are you playing in VR? Yes
Which VR Platform are you using? Vive
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Fleet Battles
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. Playing Fleet Battles agains AI and PVP. After just a few few minutes the FPS drops from 90 to 20-30.
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. Fleet Battles
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 02.10.3030 20:00
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Can't play
What happens when the bug occurs? After just a few few minutes the FPS drops from 90 to 20-30. The longer I stay in the game the lower the FPS falls. The one time I tried to ride it out it dropped to 1-5 FPS at the end and just crashed with a frozen image.
What do you expect to see? I expect the game mode will work just as good as all of the other modes and singel player campaign. At 90 FPS.
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." Played with all ships on both Imperial and New Republic
What components were you using? Standard component layout on all ships.
Which customizations (if any) were you using? Preorder skins.
Not sure if related, but in Fleet Battles my VRAM is almost entirely maxed out to 7800-7900+ MB (8GB VRAM). This is regardless of VR graphic settings. Lowest or Ultra, just the same.
Playing on flatscreen I have 200+ fps most of the time. Locked at 144 (since thats my refresh rate) Both GPU and CPU has around 50-60% load during gameplay.

my frame rate seems okay-ish on low settings (1070 Ti, i5/7600) but in practice fleet battle mode everything stops and I get a hour-glass icon every 3-8 minutes. Unplayable this way.

There are strange technical issues with this game & VR...first game ever where messing with the refresh rate & v-sync in pancake view affects the FPS of the headset ..but it does, normally changes to pancake view only affect the mirror to your monitor. I'm on Rift-S with a 1080 & i7, oculus desktop reports I'm getting solid 80FPS with 20% headroom left, but it feels & looks like <30!! I messed about for hours yesterday with the refresh, borderless or window mode, forcing ASW @40 etc & FPS affect was dramatic. If I force ASW @ 45 in OTT the game feels fine & looks smooth but I get double cross hair when moving.

i7 6700, RTX 2080 on quest with oculus link. In all modes the frame rate seems to be fine, but after 5-10 mins the frame rate just tanks. Sometimes it's just the frame rate of the tracking at first, but eventually the whole game slows down. In longer fleet battle games frame rate gets to around 5 :/

Probably need to switch off auto supersampling for fast VR in SteamVR

I think it would be helpful if we all tell what kind of driver we are using. At least if you're using a Nvidia card. I've read reports over at the pimax forum that some users have had much better performance with driver 456.38. I'm not been able to test this as I'm at work. Also I have a rtx 3000 card so I don't know if using that older driver will cause more crashing. Think I'm going to try it out when I get home regardless.

Just info for my setup
System Specs:
Ryzen 9 3900X
RTX 2080Ti (tried both stock and OC with same result)
32GB RAM @ 3200Mhz
Installed on an NMVE M2. SSD (1TB)
Nvidia Driver: 456.55VR Headset - Valve Index
I personally can only play it on Low to get the GPU frame timings down below 10ms. Outside the cockpit is blurry as hell when moving the starfighter and stars are blurry.- 5 years ago
What you prefer origin version or steam ? What will be better from VR point of view?

Same here,

(bought from Valve)
I am having the same issues with FPS using VR. Its very strange, Steam says I am getting higher FPS - but the output in the headset is much slower.
Hopefully you can look into this for the PC VR players, this problem seems to be well documented on the various forums.
- 5 years ago@T0aster87 its 10-9-2020, have you seen ea post this widespread issue to the "problems we are aware of and fixing" section of anything? i still do not feel like this has even been addressed by ea yet.
- 5 years ago@DeltreeZero As far as I have seen they have confirned it's an issue and are working on it. They mentioned they are working on it in the subreddit.
I don't believe there is an issue for them, I believe they have capped the game at 60fps intentionally for PSVR and either cannot reconfigure it for PC or need to leave it for their x-play servers. The language they use when describing the reported 'bug' really gives it away, I'm sure it was something along the lines of 'some users on high refresh rate displays and HMDs experiencing choppy play' but what has been widely reported is of course... The game is capped at 60fps. At no time when describing this bug have they said anything like 'game capped at 60fps for some users'
