I play on Ultra. With Quest/Link. SS is off. I got stable 72fps with 30-40% headroom. However, after 5-10 minutes of playing the stuttering/doubling occurs. I have to go back to the menu and reload. It temporarily fixes the problem, but after 10-15 minutes I have to do it again. It's annoying especially when it happens in mid-battle.

Origin
(I got it on Steam it was totally unplayable, so I refunded. Origin is much better)
- 5 years ago@matirish I too got my refund for this predictable farce of an EA release on steam. Glad to hear it runs better somewhere (origin), but I won't be purchasing this title again until it actually works as advertised. I am eternally exhausted of waiting for already released titles to be fixed enough to even be played. The complete absence of play testing on display here is so unfortunately common, I can't believe these people work for one of the richest, largest, disgusting corporations in business today. As usual, I feel completely ripped off, lied to, and cast aside as if it didn't matter at all that I was sold total garbage instead of a working product. I have no idea why I continue to hope for a functional release from EA in 2020. Maybe if it had some predatory gambling mechanics to fill old Bobbers filthy rich pockets with even more unfathomable wealth, someone at EA would have seen to it that this game released in an even barely playable state. Sickening. As usual.
- 5 years ago@DeltreeZero Yes I agree. I feel your pain, especially that I'm a huge Star Wars fan (I'd say you are too, by looking at your avatar) I invested in the new card and bought Hotas for this game. I was Red-Five-ready and then all those glitches happened. I was beyond frustrated, but then I read the forums and moved to Origin, which solved most of the problems. It's not perfect but playable. I'm sure they will fix it this week, in the meantime brace yourself. May the force be with you.
- 5 years ago@matirish the original trilogy and the games from the Lucasarts era and slightly beyond help form the foundation for the definition of sci fi for me. The continued lack of care that goes into these titles is so frustrating for me as an old school star wars lover, as you just can't get star wars games anywhere else. I keep rolling the dice with EA, and the result keep coming up snake-eyes. This was supposed to be the VR experience of a lifetime for someone who has played other flight sims for so long, unable to do so without uttering occasional lines from space battle action sequences featured in the first 3 films, waiting year after year for something that would actually fulfill the fantasy that has seemed so within reach, but never fully real and true. Now I wait, again. Only this time I have to scroll past videos online and news stories all talking about how fun it is, loadouts and tactics ect, and although I broke my solemn vow to never pre order, I payed up for a broken experience before the game was even released, while so many others are doing just fine in pancake land, wondering what the big deal is. I do love star wars, and this release feels more insulting and careless than most. They put more work into a scrapped microtransaction nightmare for that garbage battlefront game than they did into what I consider the panultimate goal of a star wars flight sim in late 2020: making someone feel like they are in the cockpit of a classic star wars spaceship, and providing a fun star wars flavored time, and getting paid to do so. Unfortunately, that is not what star wars squadrons is right now. Cheers.
