Personally I buy all my EA games on Origin because the client needs to open even on Steam. My preferred gaming platform however is Steam.
I would say choose where your friends are or the platform you like best; if you don’t care so much about platform then take the cheaper option would be my advice. Will the Steam and Origin launcher in the background use up power while gaming?

I want to pre order the game and get all the skins, but I have a $10 epic games discount but it doesn't work for pre orders so should I wait till the games drops to buy it or what?
It still should let you use it when it releases.
Yeah the coupon says you cant use it for a pre order but when the games drops you can then use it
