I think it's simply because WII not a popular console (not as popular as XBOX/PS/PC) with average hardware.
1. Wii and wii u is not the same
2. I think there still could be more ea games on Wii u
Wii U is not very popular too. Even Vita was abandoned by PS. Now all have android/ios and most devs develop their game for the largest market.
