I was having the same issue, where I would be signed into xbox live, be able to purchase, get achievements and etc..., and was getting that same cannot connect to EA error.
When I went to this site: http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront - I could see my xbox live gamertag and see that it was the "active account", so confirm you see the same thing here first.
After that, I am embarrassed to say, all I did to be able to connect was to reset my stupid router while signed into my xbox one, on the title screen for SW Battle Front.
Immediately after resetting the router, which again was letting me connect to xbox live and so on, I connected the first time after pressing Y and have been playing all morning.
Hope this helps, and sorry EA is utterly useless in providing answers to any of us!

- Anonymous10 years agoI am having the same problem. And the EA guy below isn't any of help. The login screen never pops up for me just keeps telling me I need to connect but never loads the login screen. This really sucks had the game since last night and can't access 90% of the game. Please fix this I am playing on ps4 and it is not an account problem it is a game problem.

"You must be signed in to your EA Account to access online features." This is the message I keep getting when i try to play the Star Wars Battlefront multiplayer. I have gotten this issue ever since the Beta, and I purchased the game (even after poor experience with the beta) and the same issue is occurring. I have tried linking my PSN account and account on Origin, I have made sure the parental controls on my PS4 are set to allow any game, I have done every thing previously posted in other forums, but no success anywhere. I need an actual solution to this instead of EA sending me their link to their page that does not help anyone. I am getting frustrated with this error and it is the reason I try to avoid EA at all costs.
I know... this is so stupid... IT TELLS YOU IN GAME THAT YOU NEED TO CONNECT TO YOUR ACCOUNT, but then never brings you to a screen that ALLOWS you to connect or log in. Even if you go to settings and go to the EA account screen, all you can do is read their gamer agreements, and TOA etc... why not have a log in screen there? This is beyond stupid... how can you have a game telling you that you cant access something and that you need to log in, but then does not give you any way to log in at all to show that you have an account.... I can log in, but my son cannot.... Did they really think that families would only have one member of them playing the game????

Same boat. Kids are mad. Thinking of calling credit card company to reverse charges
- I RESOLVED THIS ISSUE: my accounts were connected but something was hanging up.1 Log into the game make sure it's still having issues 2. Log into ea on your phone or computer. 3. Change your password for ea. 4. Double check that your device is linked in your ea account. 5 restart game and or console. Worked for me! Cheers
Unfortunately didn't work. Thanks for the idea though
Same boat here. Beta worked fine for me, BF4 works fine for me, but not this game for whatever reason.
