Bad performance on PC

I bought this game just today. Installed it on my computer, that is on the level or rather a bit above the recommended specifications.

My computer's specs:
Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.6 GHz

2x16GB 2666 MHz RAM dual channel

AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB GPU (tried both with last month's and the newest driver, which includes support for this game)

Installed on an nvme SSD

Windows 11

This game ran with pathetic performance... I first started the game in 1080p, Vsync on, Ray Tracing off and all on EPIC settings. Figured I would be able to play 1080p60 no problem. Then it hit me... it doesn't really even get near 60 most of the time. (FidelityFX was OFF) Swings between 45-55 fps mostly in the opening sequence. Even first launching the game, because of shader compilation, all I got was a slideshow. (and a black screen first, which I had to force quit as I had no idea, what was going on) Then restarted and saw the screen mentioning the process. The intro cinematic was already choppy, sometimes with hangs. I got up to the part where you meet the Senator, then you reach the first meditation point.

Well, I even tried going lower with the settings... down even to LOW. Nothing changed. Like literally nothing. 

I really-really think this game shouldn't be in this state technically and I know that the problem's not with my PC specs. Other games run just fine with a stable 60fps, even recent releases like RE4R. 
No, the problem is that the game is still in a beta-like state and we're literally beta testers, trying our luck with an unfinished, unpolised, rush-released product and it's somewhat infuriating.

EA, you could've just delayed the game a little and have had a bumpless launch. But no, it had to be rushed...

The previous game ran so much better, smoother on a much weaker computer. 

I immediately asked for a refund for now and got it back instantly, fortunately. Maybe I'll give it another chance after a few months. For now, it's a disaster. And I don't want my experience of this game to be this bad, as I REALLY enjoyed Jedi: Fallen Order. Maybe the game itself is great (I don't yet know), but the PC port's state is not worthy to be released in this state.

Absolutely dismal PC performance. I have a 16 thread intel CPU, 64 GB RAM and an RTX 4080, playing in 1440p ultrawide and in closed areas it's averaging 40-50 maybe, open areas it is a stuttering 20fps mess! Turning off Ray Tracing and going from Epic to Low settings hardly helps at all and is still a stuttering mess. Simply no optimisations done whatsoever. They prefer to stick their fingers up to the majority of PC players and partner with AMD and therefore don't implement DLSS which would have helped the situation immensely.  

It is simply not good enough to be releasing a game in this pitiful state. It is morally wrong to expect customers to pay for a broken piece of software and expect them to wait weeks for 'fixes'. 

As a customer who has paid good money to play a game I have been highly anticipating for months now, and on behalf of all other PC players out there, we demand immediate fixes and optimisations across the board of the game in it's entirety (the latest patch has had hardly any impact on performance), we demand immediate instating of Nvidia's DLSS and we demand an apology and explanation. Your customers are the reason for your existence, do not treat them like dirt or you will not be around much longer.

- diminishing the problem
- actually blaming the players' hardware LOL
- acting as if the problems were related to only one platform
- "standards" like bruh, it's not the first ea game released in such condition

just admit the game is broken, release a fix and we're good

One thing I have found that has improved the game play has little to nothing to do with the game settings themselves. To get around the failure to launch I uninstalled the EA App. To get the game to play finally with minimal crashes I went into Task Manager and set the game to High Priority for my CPU. Changing my graphics settings in game did nothing, making game a processing priority got it to play, even at epic settings. Rebooting 1-3 times each time I play versus the first experience with a grand total of 45 reboots before quiting while frustrated is a massive improvement. I am finally progressing in the game.

It's certainly not exclusively a PC problem. I have looked at several performance analyses, and even on consoles the performance mode is not smooth. The official statement, where EA claims "certain specific configurations" are affected, minimizes the problem, and I think it should be rephrased.

I am going to try this. I made it to the part where the robot and mercenary are shooting a dinosaur on a cliff. I died there and once I tried to respawn, the game would crash. The game actually worked pretty well until I installed the latest AMD drivers. Now it just gets stuck right after the continue screen. I hope they are working furiously on the patch because I was just starting to like this game.

Starts and imedeately it crashes with error: LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 163] Shader complication faliures are Fatal. What does this mean? Is it the game or my computer that has the problem?

.  Constant crashing on a 4090 / 7950 XT.  Conveniently happens after the refund is ineligible.  @EA what's our recourse.  You've sold us software that won't run.
