Controller input binding issue

It should be possible to have the focus button share an input with something else but it’s not. I played Fallen Order with attack on RT, block/parry on LT, push on RB, and pull on LB. This is how I have to set up my controller now but with all these new inputs in Survivor it’s literally not possible to have my preferred setup without having something permanently unbound. The main issue is the focus button, it isn’t allowed to share an input with any of the basic inputs, I would love to see a hotfix where it can share its input with ascension cable or something. Thanks!

    Hey @WataMalone,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback about the controller options in STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™️ and STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™️. I understand that having a limited amount of button options can be frustrating and can impact the overall gaming experience.

I appreciate your suggestion regarding the focus button sharing an input with other buttons and I will pass it on to the teams for consideration in future updates.

In the meantime, I would suggest trying different button configurations to see if there is a setup that works best for you.

Agree entirely with this and weirdly, it's the exact same button I'm currently struggling with. Originally I was stuck without a button for the grapple hook, however I found some very limited buttons allow double binding in limited circumstances (I believe Right Click), but there are many, many double bindings in the Default mapping, but very very few options to double bind on a custom mapping.

This actually soft-locked me, as I got to a tutorial that insisted I press an UNBOUND thing, but I was disallowed from pausing or pressing anything else. I'll try to show the logic of my mapping here:

All of this is centred around a decision I made in Fallen Order:

    • RT for Pull, RB for Push. There's a logic to that, pull trigger for pull, push bumper for push.
    • LT for block/parry, LB for Slow. Again, combat controls, and LT being a pull is holding the saber to block

It's now that everything else kinda goes to hell. A bunch of other things are mapped to the triggers and bumpers, but you can't double map them. I was able to move the grapple to R3 (right stick click) but Focus was left Unbound.

Now far be it from me to suggest a fix, but I believe the controls menu is split into sections. In most cases this is done around the different scenarios, so COMBAT being one scenario, EXPLORATION being another. I would suggest that these menus are separated, thus allowing for double binding.
