Corrupted save

Summarize your bug Game froze when I went to Meditation area on the ship. Restarted game. Got a "corrupted save game file" error, "start a new journey" message. Then it went to the splash screen and did not give me any more options to play the game.
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Only happened a couple of time when using the Meditation area.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game froze up when trying to use the meditation area on the ship. Caused the computer to lock up. Restarted Pc and started game. Selected "continue Journey" and "Load Journey" option on separate attempts. Got the "corrupted save game files" error and start a new journey suggestion. Then it goes to just the splash screen. It give me no more options. I was about to leave Jedha for the next mission.
What do you expect to see? To "save game" and continue on to the next mission.

Game has frozen on a number of times.  This was the first time I got this message.  It was also the first time I tried to continue using the " continue using local save files" option instead of using the " cloud save option". Tried "verifying files" on Steam first.  Same results.  Then, Uninstalled the game.  Reinstalled the game.  Restarted game and got the same results.  Steam shows that I have been playing for over 14 hours and lists my progress and achievements.  

Same problem, genuinely the most annoying thing ever. This shouldn't even be a problem. I really don't wanna restart and also I don't want another save cause they don't have the items I have.

Summarize your bug There is only two ways to save the game and that's by finishing a cut scene or getting on a meditation point. that's all fine and great until however the game decides its gonna freeze during a meditation sit down and completely corrupt my save file now the last 23 hours of game play are all gone!!!!!! Why isn't there a back up save file? Only one save file really???!???!??!? I cant even describe how upset i am if i could return this game i would!! constantly crashing regardless of my game settings. I was able to work around for the most part until it decided to freeze during a save. very bad design not adding another way to manually save your game. it 2023 get with the times !!!

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? easy open the game and attempt to manually save the game. Wait you cant Please * a way to manually save. go to Koboh's Shattered Moon and im sure you can replicate a freeze. now just keep playing and trying to save you might get lucky like me and have your game freeze during a save point then you can replicate losing all save data.
What happens when the bug occurs? it will freeze at random time when im on Koboh. i got a blue screen during a save on koboh now i get to start all over
What do you expect to see? A way to manually save my game file let me have several save game files that i can pick from only having one single save option and one single save game file is a recipe for disaster. i can work around the freezing just dont let me lose 23 hours of my life again! make a way TO SAVE MANUALLY ONE SAVE DOESNT WORK PLEASE ADD A MANUAL SAVE FOR THE LOVE OF MY SANITY!

started a new game because what choice did i have now I have all the achievements for 23 hours of game play now i get to restart with no satisfaction of unlocking new achievements . ADD A MANUAL SAVE OPTION. WORK ON ALL OF THE FREEZING. 

I have the same issue - doesn't look like anyone from EA is keen to get back to you either. Sorry about your save.

This is very shameful practice.

Same thing happened to me (on PC). The game crashed (randomly) on the chapter 2 and after reloading I get a message that my save game is corrupt, please start a new journey. I have tried to copy the backup to restore it but with no luck. Waiting for this to be fixed before I attempt to replay.

I had a crash when I fast traveled from Jeddah to Koboh and after that I got corrupted save file. I spent 17 hours and I don't want to start from the beginning ( . How can this be fixed?

I see several forums about this as I have been looking for a fix/a way to download the backup cloud save.  I'm guessing it is a save bug.  Where the game crashes because of some process during the save and the save file is corrupted.  An easy fix is to let me download the backup cloud save.

I had the same thing happen when the game had yet another green screen while saving. Lost a 46 hour save plus access to NG+.

Summarize your bug When I selected to depart for Nova Garon on Jedha, the game crashes and ended up corrupting the save file.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Depart for Nova Garon once it it unlocked.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game freezes then crashes and corrupts the save file a few seconds after selecting Nova Garon.
What do you expect to see? I expect the Mantis to arrive at the selected location.

This is a very unfortunate bug as I now have lost 30 hours of gameplay and the only option in front of me is to restart. I hope a future update may be able to fix this but I'm not too sure anymore. 

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that. And here I was annoyed about losing approx 30 minutes of playtime when mine crashed when trying to start a Force Tear activity on Jedha.
