@Col_Hstar, it's likely that there's an issue with your local cache of the EA app.
Please clear the cache and see if you can launch the game again.

I had the worst time trying to get the patch to actually update. It would download unnaturally fast and say wrapping up and then finished. Afterwards it would then say update required. I even uninstalled the game thinking this was an absolute no brainer no way it couldn’t not be included.. After installation It said update required. I was about to give up. I tried clearing the cache, sign out all the things I had read other than one last thing. Run in administrator mode. I did that and the update finally updated and I was able to launch the damn game. Hope this helps for anyone that has similar issues.

Thanks for posting but this solution didn't work for me. I had reached the end of my tether, had tried absolutely everything I had read too including re-installing the entire game, running as administrator etc. I was about to delete the EA app and before I did, I was given the option to repair it which I did and finally that fixed it!
How do you run in Administration mode
