Epic Games - PS5 controller inputs not working on Jedi Survivor

I have EA Play pro and have installed it via the EA app

I cannot use a controller to enter any menus, the only working input on the controller is the two analog sticks, i cannot proceed through any menus or the game (i can't get the lightsaber with LT) unless i use a mouse and keyboard, which i cannot use to play

I have tried the recommended steps of adding the game to Steam as a non-library game and enabling Steam input
