Force Confusion Doesn’t Work

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform: Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug: I started playing about a year ago, and then took a break. Returned to the game and found that the Force Confuse prompts did nothing when activated (I.e.- A dialogue has someone glow blue and requests an ‘RB’ button prompt). Was able to bypass encounters with Force Confuse until I’m near the end of the game, in which I’m assaulting the Imperial outpost on Koboh and a guard talking to a droid refuses to let me thru. Noticed that in my skills the tree for Confusion is still ‘broken’ (unavailable), telling me I haven’t learned it yet. Pretty sure it was the first tree I maxed out, before my break, as that is my preferred play style.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unknown. A similar post from over a year ago suggested something similar is from a glitch causing a crash early game when learning Force Confusion.
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing. Unable to proceed as the guard won’t let me thru.
What do you expect to see? When I look at playthrus online, the guard is supposed to let me into the next room after confusion is used.

I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips I’ve seen - tried a different controller, remapped the focus command, restarted the game/xbox/power cycle, reinstall the game. Appears to be something wrong with my save game and that skill does not register. Tried resetting skill points and it still doesn’t allow me to access the Confusion tree. It stinks to be so close to the end, so if there’s a work around I’d love to hear it.

    • Reset Skill Points Again: While this has been tried, sometimes resetting skill points multiple times and reassigning them can trigger the game to recognize the skill tree properly.
    • Reload an Older Save: If possible, go back to a save file from before the Force Confusion ability was first unlocked. Replaying that section might resolve the issue.
    • Verify Game Updates: Ensure the game is running on the latest patch, as developers often address such bugs in updates.
    • Contact EA Support: Since this seems to be a save file issue, reaching out to EA support might help. They could potentially escalate the problem or provide a workaround.
    • Community Solutions: Check forums like the EA Forums or Reddit for similar reports. Other players might have found creative solutions to bypass this bug.
