Grapple Balloons

Both in the story and this current rift challenge I'm trying to work on, I simply cannot Force pick up the grapple balloons that you're supposed to be able to. In the story I ended up having to kill myself like 20 times and reset the game a couple times before I was able to get it. In this Force Tear challenge, You only have a couple seconds to grab and launch it, but no matter how my camera is angled or where I am facing, Cal cannot grab it.
