How is this game still so broken this far after release? Does EA even care?

In truth: No they don't care.

I already returned my copy of the game and got my money back. Even the bestbuy rep was like "Yeah we've had a lot of these" when I took it in.

EA is clear. They had a chance to turn some heads from their already negative reputation in the gaming community, and they squashed it.
