Forum Discussion
At this point we should be contacting gaming related news outlets. I have already contacted Gamer's Nexus, but LTT, IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer and any other publication you can think of should be informed. Clearly this is the only way to put pressure on EA to do the right thing. Here is my email to GN that anyone can copy and paste to other gaming outlets. We need to take action ourselves!
I'm reaching out to see if you're interested in
giving a story more publicity. Over a month ago, I was playing EA's
Jedi Survivor title, when I got stuck on a door that won't open. The
prompt is supposed to populate on the screen that triggers a cutscene
but it doesn't happen after the most recent update. The issue has been
documented cross platform by dozens of users on Reddit and EA's own
forums but EA has yet to do anything about it or respond in a
meaningful way. I have reached out requesting a refund for the game 4
times now but they decline since I didn't purchase the game from them
directly. I've reported them to various institutions, but am now reaching
out to various gaming related news outlets in an attempt to strongarm
them into action and do the right thing for the customers. Some users
are reporting this issue longer than myself. Thank you for your work
in this industry.
Hey folks, just wanted to update this thread.
The quickest way to get out of this issue is to restart your journey if your save file places you at the bugged section.
As for the potential cause of the problem the issue seems to happen if you die after getting the dash ability but before reaching the next save point.
If you avoid dying at this point you should be able to progress normally.
I know this isn't the exact update you are were looking for but this is currently the best workaround and I really do appreciate your patience.
At the same time I have also removed a significant amount of posts within this thread that break the AHQ forum rules. If you are unfamiliar with the rules you can review them here under "User rules and guidelines" and I would ask that you respect them as while I understand your frustation you need to follow the forum rules.
Thank you.

Hello, so if I understand this correctly the best way to address this game bug is to start a new journey, aka start over with a new game and lose hours upon hours of gameplay. Did EA consult with Ubisoft on how to address game bugs with Star Wars games and that’s why it took this long for the team to come up with a “workaround”? Also, don’t die and this won’t be an issue. I love this advice. I never thought of not dying in a video game or it might not work properly. Wow, just wow…

@EA_Rtas I can't overstate how much this isn't the update we were looking for.
These "workarounds" have been the in forum as the community has diagnosed the issue multiple time and understood why it's happening and that the only solution is to restart.
The games default when saving is to override the save slot, even when saving manually it's not super intuitive to save a new slot. A common pitfalls for games. But this has left the majority of the people with this issue having to restart the whole game again, ultimately losing all their data. For a game with hidden treasures and hard battles, this is a tough ask to go back and do it all again.
EA and the team on Jedi Survivor have a Soft Lock in their game. There is no way for you to spin it or consider it anything else.
I would argue it's a severity A bug as it is targeting an increasing number of new players daily. This needs to be addressed. Please can you ensure that the ticket is tagged and labelled correctly so the team can address it. Also don't just ticket it up and ignore it, follow through, chat with QA, Producers available to rectify the bug.
At minimum the team should be addressing this to the community.
Some simple steps to take that will help not fuel the more angry people in the thread:
- acknowledge the issue (done 2 months ago)
- keep a frequent cadence of updates. Radio silence is not what we need, small incremental updates keep us informed and heard.
- push this with the Producer. Inform them of the post, issues, grab data that is showing the incremental growth of the issue.
- have QA reproduce and validate the issue (this has obviously happened as you advised us in the update how it occurs, so use this as a better update "hey QA have managed to reproduce the issue, we're now working with the team to triage the bug")
- come to the Producer with some potential solutions (as one, I can tell you, we love this)
Some potential solutions:
1. Have QA ticket up the bug and prioritise it. Though this may be where the issue is, reproducing it is causing the team to not really understand why it's happening.
2. Hotfix so the door doesn't exist - the trigger is obviously an issue, so remove the whole door immediately to unblock everyone. This might impact gameplay as people can walk through it, but for memory the storm will stop this so should be fine.
3. Review how the game saves slots. This is bigger UX and Eng issue so probably over kill. Also leaves us still stuck, but seeing EA working on it is better than seeing new people land into this issue daily.
- but please, do not come into the forum and regurgitate what we have all ready discovered and consider this a "workaround" its frankly, insulting to us.
I'm sorry that you have had some strong messages in this forum, unfortunately this is partly on yourself for not following good protocol on managing the issue.
The majority of us are here just wanting to stay updated and have the issue fixed, but the lack of communication and acknowledgement is sub par and frankly, not good enough.
Please lift your community standard's, the better you do, the better we do.

@P4VRoN1FTY I really do appreciate the detailed feedback here and I'll be more than happy to pass it on to the appropriate people.
I absolutely understand that it's not the update you were all wanting and I completely get that it's frustrating. - 9 months ago
@EA_Rtas It's not that simple.I didn't die in this section. My game chrashed after an Error occoured on PS5. In my oppinion thats not exactly any kind of help for an gamebreaking bug. I restarted the game on Story mode an hope that the error will not show again. Very sad that after months i had to relay on luck to maybe finish the game.

@Plisskin Totally understand how you feel and I know it's not the response you all have wanted.
Crashing at that section works similar to if you die because it happened before the next save point.
Please keep me up to date on your progress and I hope you're able to progress without running into this issue again. - 9 months ago
From your response it looks like EA doesn't have any plan to fix this bug. Am I wrong? Is there any plan - date when this bug will be fixed? Thanks in advance for your honest answer.

What really frustrated me is that the “solution” we are being given is basically to restart the game from scratch and don’t die/hope your system doesn’t crash right after learning the dash ability. I didn’t die. My system didn’t crash. I simply saved the game there because the game allows you to do so and yet I’m still being told that I need to restart the campaign from scratch.
To be a little more specific: the way I make sure I don’t spend all night playing is simple: when I turn on my PS5 I look at what time it is and pick a time to stop playing. Once it approaches that time I keep going until the next save point and then I stop for the night. This is how I play any game. This is how most people play. They might not pick a specific time to stop playing but once they’re ready to call it a night they go until the next save point and stop.
In Jedi Survivor the meditation spots aren’t the only save points. Cut scenes are also auto-saves. So the only reason I’m in this predicament is because the game auto saved after the cut scene where you learn dash. If that hadn’t been the case - if the game made you keep going to the next meditation spot to save - I wouldn’t be here. Which is really messed up because the entire point of a game having auto save spots is so that you can come back to that spot next time you turn the game on. - 9 months ago
I canceled my PC subscription because of that bug.
The easiest ways to fix this issue:
- to insert a script that removes the door after the cutscene save
- for everyone that reached meditation point No.XXX to also remove this great door
- or to code the property so that the door could be pushed or pulled by force
- or create a meditation point in this cave
- 9 months agoThis is incredibly random, but someone just posted on Reddit a fix that suddenly got my force pull working again. TLDR: go to your map, create a beacon, then hold to remove all beacons, switch to galaxy map and come back into game.

If I remove the beacon, how will it help open the doors? In mission "singing ruins"

If I remove the beacon, how will it help open the doors? In mission "singing ruins" - 9 months agoI didn’t understand the fix either - if you read the Reddit post you’ll see my shock at how unrelated the fix seems to the problem.
The OP explained that you may have a beacon set at the coordinates of 2,147,483,648 (which is causing unconnected problems) and that by removing this broken beacon and then going to the galaxy map - you can resolve the issue
This worked for me being unable to force pull the orbs in the Chamber of Duality - 9 months ago
EA needs to offer refund vouchers for this game breaking bug. It's unacceptable.
Just remove the door from the game. It's not a hard fix.

It's actually unbelievable that the response to this is to restart the campaign and in the same breath slapped YOUR OWN PAYING CUSTOMERS on the wrist for breaking forum rules. Are we not allowed to be upset by this? You're part of a billion dollar company that can't fix a simple door glitch. Jedi Survivor is actively sold in stores, despite not functioning in its intended way. EA is doing NOTHING to remedy the situation. You really can't make this stuff up.

If I bought a book from Amazon and got halfway through the book and the rest of the book was missing, Amazon would give me my money back. The fact that you would think it is acceptable to ask someone that spent 20 hours on your game to waste another 20 hours on your game starting over and still have the risk of having the same bug it just goes to show that you are either completely separate from reality or absolutely don’t care about the people buying your product. Either fix the game or give me my money back. Unless you are just a corporation that doesn’t care because they don’t have to care…
- 7 months ago@EA_Rtas Rules you talking about Electronic arts sold us a game that don't work it must be fixed or money back when is to fix coming ? After so many months You must give Us an update please don't ignore it's nothing personal but if EA don't respond we do it in a different way
