New Jedi Survivor Bug: Inventory

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:PlayStation 5
Summarize your bug Picking up new collectibles (Jedha scrolls, Priorite Shards) replaces the items in your inventory instead of adding to them. If you already have 2 Jedha Scrolls, and find a collectible of 3 Scrolls, your inventory now only has 3 scrolls.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go and find collectibles and watch as your inventory doesn’t add up but just has however many you last found.
What happens when the bug occurs? Inventory is updated to the amount you just found instead of adding to what you already had.
What do you expect to see? Inventory should add up to the total number of items you have instead of replacing.

I can’t save up collectibles like Jedha Scrolls and Priorite Shards to buy certain items from vendors. Seriously ridiculous flaw in the game.

  • @beefslinky  I'm not sure what exactly you mean.  There are no instances where Cal can collect multiple scrolls or other inventory items at exactly the same time.  Each item is collected individually for all types.

If you view the in-game menu (I believe it's right on the touch pad on a PS5 controller), you can choose to view your inventory items, which will show the total number collected out of the total available.  That's exactly the number required to achieve completion and, in the case of the ones that function as currency, buy all available items in the corresponding shop.

@puzzlezaddict What I mean is like let’s say you’re going through the story. You find some priority shards in an area on Koboh, when you collect it it says you’ve received 3 Priorite Shards. Then you continue through the story, you find another collectible of Priorite Shards. You collect it, it says you’ve collected 2 Priorite Shards. You check your inventory expecting 5, you see it says you have 2 Priorite Shards.

Each time you collect, it just says that’s how many you have. It sets your inventory to what you just collected

@beefslinky  For the sake of documenting everything, please take a screenshot of the menu's inventory list showing how many of each collectible the game thinks you've found.  Then list the number of treasures (this covers shards, scrolls, and data discs) in a few areas on the map.  When viewing the map, you can click a button to see the total and collected items in that area, for example it might say 2/3 treasures, 1/3 chests, 2/2 databank, etc.  Post screenshots of enough of these to show that you have collected more treasures than the total showing in your inventory.  You don't need to cover the entire map, just enough to make the math obviously wrong.

So here are a few images of me with the bug, which is consistent in every scenario and collectible for me on PS5.

Here I show my inventory, displaying 1 Priorite Shard. I show me collecting the shard which says I have collected 2. Then I check my inventory and it says I only have 2 and not 3. Sorry I didn't get images of the number of Priorite Shards found, didn't know exactly where to find that. But I thought this demonstrates the bug very well. I can't collect them, only just each little bundle is how much I can have at once.

@beefslinky  If you look in the lower-left corner of the screen, you can see that you've collected 15/100 priorite shards in your first screenshot and 16/100 in your last.  Is that an accurate count?  Have you spent 14 shards at Doma's shop, leaving only the two in your inventory; or have you not spent any?  And is this a regular save or a NG+?

Wait, I might be an idiot. Sorry. Didn't realize each shard you find is just ONE shard. When you collect it, it tells you your total number of shards found. Not how many was in that one bundle... Thanks for helping.
