Option to disable ray tracing on consoles

Performance mode ON or OFF; it does not matter, as ray tracing features are always forced on when playing on consoles, the frame rate is terribly inconsistent no matter which graphical mode you choose. Much worse performance than the original game (Fallen Order). Also, the upscaled dynamic resolutions on either graphical mode is much worse than the original game (Fallen Order), due to being so heavily pressured by the ray tracing features.

How about a toggle in the Visuals menu for ENABLING and DISABLING ray tracing features next to the option between Performance mode ON or OFF. When ray tracing features are ON, the game can use lower upscaled dynamic resolutions like it does right now. When ray tracing features are OFF, the game can use native 1440p for Performance mode ON and native 4K for Performance mode OFF. At least 1440p upscaled to 4K or 1800-something upscaled to 4K depending on the modes. Just to give the player the option to experience the game as smooth as possible, like the previous title (Fallen Order).

TL DR; an option to toggle ray tracing ON or OFF on consoles; featuring higher (native?) resolutions when ray tracing is OFF.

  • This is ridiculous, it’s a simple patch. Some of us want a SOLID 60 fps experience on console not a somewhat stable, not 45 fps, not 50 fps. SOLID 60 fps.
If you guys are gonna work on anything work on giving us a toggle for ray tracing.

I agree. Resolution and frame rate sucks in this game, I stopped playing because of it in hopes EA/Respawn fixes it. I’m sure an option to disable ray tracing would help both cases.

I feel like that would make a MASSIVE difference to the FPS issues on PS5.

  • Playing on Xbox S/X and I love this game, but the performance is SO bad. Even on both modes with the latest patch. I even have a giant Samsung with VRR. As nice as RT is, it isn’t worth the sacrifices here. The game would arguably look better for it in motion. Take GOW Ragnarok for example. That doesn’t and it looks amazing. Or RDR2, a five year old game that still holds up. Please work on a solution that allows us to manually toggle RT on or off.

Agree with everything that has already been typed. Please give us the option to disable raytracing. It isn’t worth the sacrifice to 30fps this generation. Without raytracing on PC the game looks great. Please give us the choice.

  • Do you even see option for performance on and off button after update?  I don't see it on mine.

  • Obviously they can do it with a simple patch. The fact that they have not means they don't want to. Or my guess is they probably have some kinda deal with Nvidia to push this garbage down our throats. In typical EA fashion
