PC - Cannot change in-game language?

Hi everyone.

This may seem like a minor problem but it's driving me crazy. I live in a non-English speaking country. Even so, when I played Jedi:Fallen Order, the default language was set to English, which is how I prefer it anyway.

I just downloaded Jedi: Survivor and, to my great dismay, the default language is now the official language of the country I'm in. I cannot change the language to English for the life of me.

- I've tried changing it via the options menu in the game (both under gameplay AND audio) -- nothing. It won't even list other options or react when I try to scroll through options (side note: J: FO lets me change the language there without any issues)
- I've tried repairing the game since I hoped there was just an issue with corrupt files --didn't do anything

- I've changed the language of the EA app, hoping it would set the language to English -- again, didn't do anything.

Does anyone have any other bright ideas? I could try to de- and reinstall, but unlike other games (like, e.g. Assassin's Creed) it didn't ask for a preferred language before I downloaded it in the first place, so idk if that would do much.  I'm honestly stumped....

(also already contacted support, who told me to post here, so......................)

  • @Rena238  I think your best bet is reinstalling while the EA App is set to English.  As far as I've seen, the App doesn't support changing the language the way Origin did, so without an in-game setting, there's no other way to switch.  And I doubt you'd want to go poking around in the registry without having a good idea of what you'd be accomplishing.

The language option appears, when there are any options at all, on the same pop-up that asks where you'd like to install the game.  If you don't see that option, please post a screenshot.  Please also list the language JS installs in, for reference.

@puzzlezaddict I did end up reinstalling the game yesterday and with the language of the app changed to English it did work.
(Still weird that JFO offers an in-game option to change the language which works and JS /theoretically/ does too but it doesn't but....oh well).
