im on 3800x rx6800, game runs smoothly, but i have 16GB vram and this game on 1440p epic eats around 10-12GB...but if you move too fast, it will go up quickly, it will take more and more, garbage collector seems to be slow or waiting for something...but if you get idle for a min, it will free it up
performance loss you see is from changing graphic settings on fly, its bugged, if you change settings like ray tracing on and off, fps gets tanked, restart game and it should be back to normal
other than that, disable SMT in bios
shader compiling takes only few seconds, could be your gpu drivers having some issue with compiling
VRAM isn't the issue, any resolution, any performance setting gives the same performance.
Shader compiling only takes a few seconds; I think that's the issue as it's clearly not caching everything and doing stutters on the fly.
I got some performance back by overclocking, but still only averaging 45fps - GSync helps make that bearable. If you're seeing more than that count yourself lucky. If you find that to be smooth, also count yourself lucky 🙂
Thanks for the suggestion of disabling SMT; it's not an ideal option as a lot of my development software is configured for the logical core count does it make a significant difference?

dont change graphic settings on fly, game is missing popup with "game needs to be restarted"
if you change settings, reload game (exit game/open game)
