Re: "Check On The Mantis" Mantis not at Landing Bay

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug The Mantis on the "Check on the Mantis" questline fails to load. I can interact and start the dialogue cutscene. After the dialogue cutscene finishes I am presented with an error screen. Reloading the last save doesn't resolve the issue, proceeding doesn't resolve the issue. I am unable to proceed with the storyline.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Load in on the Bygone Settlement Meditation point and proceed to the platform where the Mantis is supposed to be spawned. The Mantis will not be visible or interact able. There will be an interaction point visible with no characters present. Interacting with this point spawns the NPCs and proceeds with the dialogue with the ship still being invisible.
What happens when the bug occurs? I am able to interact with an invisible object on the Mantis platform. This triggers the NPCs (Zee, Bode, Greez) spawn in what I assume is their proper location, but with no ship visible and them floating in position (or on the ground in Zee's case). The dialogue cut-scene proceeds and I am able to walk up on the invisible ship. After the dialogue finishes, I see both the tutorial popup and an Error popup asking if I want to proceed or re-load. If I choose to to reload, I reload at the previous Meditation point and the bug repeats. If I proceed, I fall through the invisible ship onto the platform and cannot interact with the invisible ship in any way (no collisions, no interactables) or either Zee or Bode who are floating in space where they would be on the ship. I am unable to proceed with the main story as I need to use the ship to fly to the next planet.
What do you expect to see? I expect the ship to be visible, interact able, and to fly to the next planet.

No additional information. Ship is invisible.

@Art_Vandelay1064, could you perhaps mention what kind of error this is?

  • @EA_Leeuw

    Unexpected Error

You seemed to have bypassed certain story elements. Continuing to play from this point may encounter issues. If you choose to proceed anyway, loading any future saves from the title screen will give you the option to reload prior to this point

    @Art_Vandelay1064, that's odd.

A new patch has been released for the game a couple of days ago. Are you still experiencing the issue?

@Art_Vandelay1064, could you perhaps try to backtrack to another quest, or do a side-quest (if you have those available), and see if that fixes it?
  • @EA_Leeuw not sure if it's fixed for anyone else but it hasn't fixed my side - i also don't get any unexpected errors; i.e the game telling me i've gone too far and may have a broken story. any more help on this would be appreciated
  • None of this works and still getting error.  How do we fix?  Can't play game due to this error

  • This does not work.  This is not a user error, but a game design error.  Please fix

  • I figured it out!!!!   You need to back track to your first nekko ride.. must be on yellow nekko to trigger the ship

@scumbagfromstl Using the one you find worked for me yesterday regardless of the colour, I didn’t try any nekko maybe you just have to be on a nekko but for a guarantee use the one you find where you learn the mount
  • Its 8/17/2023 and still having this problem ...

  • This isn't a fix. There is a genuine game bug here, much like many of the other bugs reported.  I've been playing the main story line as its intended and I now have a loop from the meditation point

There is a 'small dot' to interact with even though the Mantis is invisible on the platform, clicking this allows the story line to continue and places you within the Mantis taking you to the next part of the story line to travel to Jedha. At this point, it unlocks the Kaboh access to areas in the saloon, but in the background pops up the 'broken storyline issue' Going back to the 'last good save' mediation point, just resets this process.

    - I've gone back to the Nekko Training area, and its made no difference.

    - Neither is this an issue with clicking 'Progress' because that hasn't been done anywhere else in the game (before anyone suggests this).

Its highly frustrating and I'm seriously disappointed that a game developer has been this sloppy.

Please advise when the next patch will be released.

It’s almost a guarantee ea won’t fix this bug but when I had the bug I fixed it by going back to where you learnt the nekko mount then got on and follow the path it tells you to in the mission can’t remember the mission name but it’s probably the one you’ve just completed - you don’t need to be in a mission for this to trigger if done correctly when you get to the hill you should see the mantis fly across to the screen to the landing area

You MUST be on the nekko you find inside the hole where the nekko spawns
