Re: Controller only sucks...

Hey @jdbassjr,

You are able to play STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™️ with a Keyboard and Mouse just fine on PC, it has full support.

Just like STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™️ did.

However, we recommend a controller for the best experience, as is mentioned during the first boot of the game.

Where are the keyboard bindings. I cannot find them.

You mean WASD, RL mouse and space is all the keyboard controls.

Wait, does Jedi: Survivor on PC not include the option to fully customize mouse/keyboard controls? That'd be ridiculous in this day and age.

    I refunded this.

Basically it amounted to this. When a game causes me problems in the beginning such as I cannot find the key bindings and what I can find does not show all the bindings I refund. I do not need more headaches in my life and this game was not high on my priority list.

  • Unless I am missing something, saying its like the first game is a flat out lie. I have a disabilty and can't use WSAD, I need to use the direction keys for movement...those are hard coded to be locked and can't be changed, meaning I did the stupid (yes thats on me) of paying for the full digital deluxe edition, now I have a game I can't even play, and because its the digital deluxe version, I can't refund it either... as a quick edit, I should clarify that the direction keys are the hard coded to be unable to be changed. technically WSAD can be changed, but due to me only having a fist for a right hand and don't have real finger dexterity, I need to set movement to th directional because they require the least amount of movement to well..move.

Seeing as the WAS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE FIRST GAME, I thought, hey this game is gonna be awesome, and it looks great, but I definitely can't play it with the controls as they are.

  • @EA_Leeuw so you are telling me shoddy controls during gameplay and complete breakdown of the controller buttons in the menu is the desired experience?!?
this game is UNPLAYABLE with a controller.

Who would have thought that buying the Deluxe Edition prevents a refund.

I had to contact EA help directly to get my refund for Standard Edition. The automated refund process did not work. Once I contacted them they promptly refunded my money.

After this experience I will never buy a EA product on EA. I will buy it elsewhere because I know I won't have a problem getting a refund if there is a problem.

  • to clarify, I bought the Deluxe edition on Epic games, and they will not refund it. Standard edition they will refund, but not the Deluxe.

Just curious did you try going directly to EA Help.

The automated process did not work for me and I had to go to Help to get my refund.

See pick for endless circle on the automated process.

PS. I have crappy hands too and I am leary of games in which I have to jump around to do combat.

Better to plant my feet solidly in one spot and fight it out. LOL.

  • i can try, but on my official ea account, Jedi Survivor doesnt even show up, though it shows up in the EA app, but it says "Deluxe edition accessed through Epic" and Epic refuses to refund it.

Yeah you are probably screwed. Still I would try contacting Epic Help. They might take refund.

  • nope, i already contacted them haha. I talked to them 20 minutes after loading up the game (took that long to load in, try to set up my keys, get through the opening cut scene and realize i couldn't rebind direction keys. So I have under 30 mins, and epic won't refund because its the deluxe edition. So yeah, I am screwed hehe.

@Arakan30 In the same boat as you. Wonder what idiot decided to bind the direction keys in the first place. Going to refund the game.

    @EA_Leeuw

Your Devs have a very weird definition of "full support", please try playing this as a left handed person that needs to rebind keys - such as arrowkeys.

Fallen Order did not have this issue.

Its very hard to justify paying that price tag when fundamentals, such as fully customizable keys, are missing.

    *edit

That includes the ability to bind mouse 4 and 5 (!) which can not be bound aswell.

This is absolutely ridiculous. To think such a rudimentary feature as full input customization for mouse/keyboard controls is absent in a 2023 AAA title. Who at EA or Respawn thought this was fine?!

And on top of that, being unable to get a refund because you purchased the DELUXE edition as oppose to the standard edition? I can't believe what I'm reading. That's insane!

Then there are all the reports about performance issues on all three platforms... What the heck is going on here?

I was really looking forward to this game, but now I'm thinking not having enough funds to pre-order it saved me a lot of trouble. EA and Respawn need to get these issues sorted out ASAP.

I have gotten to a point in this game where you MUST use a controller.  The Jumping, Dashing, Double Jumping Etc, is a major pain with a keyboard and mouse. And quite frankly is making the game less fun...

I have another thread on this topic but I was wondering if they ever put the full list of key bindings in settings in the game. It has been awhile but if I remember correctly what they did show was was very minor.
