Re: Game takes double disk space when patching or repairing

This was reported even before launch when the Day 0 patch did the same.

Whats happening is that EA app is duplicated every game file when it updates or repairs the game.

So the game need double size to patch or repair.

And of course EA mods are saying it was only a few players who preloaded who encountered this trying to hide that it is a real problem.

Yet here we are after launch, second patch and many people have issues.

I suspect everyone are encountering this but only those who dont have 160GB of free HD space are seeing the real problem. The rest are having the issue but they dont notice as they have enough disk space.

In the end everytime this game repairs or updates you will duplicate the game and cause extra unecessary wear on our SSD write cycles due to EA enforcing their beta launcher on us.

  • When I preloaded the game I had an issue where I couldn’t do an update that didn’t exist as the “update” kept on looping and never actually downloading. I had to uninstall and reinstall 130GB which had depleted my internet. Fortunately the game was working after that and I had been loving the experience although minor performance issues were encountered. Now the patch is here and it didn’t update correctly and now I am having the same issue as explained initially. I have played a whole day in game time. I cannot reinstall this. I am devastated because I know that the EA app is made in such a way that I will have to re-download 130GBs. I can’t do this anymore… Please, any help will be so appreciated.
