Re: Steam Input and Overlay Not working in Jedi Survivor

I received the EA redemption code code for Jedi Survivor and tried to use it on steam because that is my main platform. It didn't work so I used it and downloaded it through EA, then added it as a non-Steam game so I could use controller support for my Nintendo Switch pro controller (the only one I have). I made sure Nintendo Switch pro controller support was on, and that the steam overlay was on for non-Steam games but when I open the game through Steam, some of my controller inputs work (2 or 3), there are no controller button hints, and I can't open Steam overlay. The game still thinks I'm playing keyboard and mouse. Is there any free fix where I can play with my current controller? I know I could buy the game through Steam or play keyboard and mouse, but it shouldn't be this complicated to adapt to my preferences. Thanks!

I confirm that the Steam overlay does not work when starting the game. Yesterday I bought the game and couldn’t launch it for half a day. Today I linked to the EA library, but overlays are not working and achievements are not being tracked.

  • Has the game worked for x box controller or is it just switch pro that's messed up?

  • Has EA fixed the broken achievements in Mass Effect 2 and 3 on Steam yet?

i feel like their launcher is constantly fraking up my Steam games

I'll bring up the topic. Steam overlay does not work when starting the game. Moreover, it is noticeable that when the game starts, the game runs in the background, you have to switch to it yourself.

  • I've tried all controller types I own. XBOX One, XBOX One X, PS4, and Steam Controller. They work locally on the PC, but through Steamlink they do not. I have trouble with Jedi Survivor and Battlefront. Amazingly, It Takes Two has no problems.

  • !!!! HERE IS THE FIX !!!!

So clearly EA doesn't care about this issue.

I read through some forums in the steam community page for this game and found someone posted a solution, I've tested it and it works:

    1. Open steam.
    2. Click Star wars Jedi survivor
    3. Click the "discussions" tab
    4. Search "possible cause ea app version 13.104.5617 (Jan 17, 2024)
    5. (or just search controller and scroll down till you find the post title above)
    6. Scroll to a post byDeNnIcOol (Feb 2 12:41pm)
    7. Follow the instructions there.

I'm back to using my Stadia controller for Star wars Jedi survivor.

Took a little effort but confirms the issue is with the EA app.

    No thanks whatsoever to EA.

    • I have problems with this it takes two.
Dead Space works fine, but that doesn’t require the EA app.
