Stances
I have Jedi Survivor on PS5, it's running fairly well but has frame dips around running water, resolution drops in Rambler's Reach, and a couple of crashes when traveling between planets, but that ha...
could it just basically be like this mod? the mod they have up now doesn't work while moving or support switching using a controller though, plus I'd really prefer if EA and Respawn made an official patch that we can use on PS5 so we don't have to deal with the PC performance issues or having to buy the game again. https://www.reddit.com/r/FallenOrder/comments/13ay6mi/r457s_stance_swapping_mod_showcase/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
it would be a huge boost to quality of life to at least not have to go to save points to swap stances. i promise to be quiet for a very long time if they do 🙏
Before I get to the point, a disclaimer is in order so I don't have to re-read the terms of use and don't get in trouble. I do not endorse use of any software alteration 3rd party apps, this is at user's own discretion, hence I will avoid using any specific links. The specifically mentioned 3rd party software named is used for information purposes only.
Now then...
I tried CheatEngine (since I had that installed already) and used a table I found by googling "jedi survivor activate debug mode". After going through the steps, I've managed to activate the debug mode in the screenshot from the Nexusmod forum link. Activating the "Stance Cycle Mode" indeed allowed to use left and right D-Pad to cycle through all stances in order of Single > Double > Dual > Crossguard > Blaster > Single...
The equipped stance icons now display the next and previous stance. The extra crossguard parts disappear when switching to stances that are not immediately on either side of the crossguard. The fact that the stances are on a wheel also means you can't switch from, say, a crossguard to double, may hypothetically be a gameplay hinderance to some degree. I didn't try the mod, since the instructions don't recommend the controller (amongst other parts) and after doing Dark Souls with KB+M, I learned my lesson to not do that ever again with a melee souls-like.
I think this brings an interesting point. They knew that having the stance cycling is handy for testing, but they:
Fun fact, the Blaster stance is referred to as "Pirate" in the debug menu.
@N7Revit knew it was pirate inspired! man it sounds so close to finished, if they could just map that cycling to a single dpad button while you have the focus button held down, and have it set when you release, we're golden. I wouldn't necessarily mind if it took months to happen, but I gotta know whether it will before I end up breaking down and buying it again on PC just to use the wonky version.
