Steam Input and Overlay Not working in Jedi Survivor

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Steam Overlay Not working in Jedi Survivor. The Steam Overlay is working in other EA Play linked games, and other non-EA games. This primarily seems to be causing issues with Steam Input controller compatibility. Steam Link streaming to other devices on the same wifi is also affected. Achievement pop-ups for Steam are also undoubtedly affected.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Run the Steam version of Jedi: Survivor
What happens when the bug occurs? Only XBox controllers will work, using X-Input.
What do you expect to see? Steam Input, Steam achievements, the game on Steam Deck.

  • Same problem, fixed by running EADesktop.exe as "non-steam" game prior to launching Jedi Survivor.

This is getting ridddiculous, i gave up playing Mass Effect Legendary in the past because i couldn't get the achievements for ME2 to work.

Now i buy Jedi Survivor on a sale and the entire Steam overlay is blocked!? Why!?

EA sorry but wtf you guys doing?

Currently even Ubisoft's Uplay does a better job.

Not a single problem with overlay or achievement synching and with EA Play its problem after problem ☹️

  • How is this not fixed yet? I can get the controller to work by adding the launcher as a non-Steam game and running it from there, but then achievements don’t work. How has this been an issue for almost a year? This is literally the only game I’ve had this problem with on Steam.

Please fix this, EA, or I’m getting it refunded.

  • You know that's a great idea. I posted a fix for this problem in this thread a long long time ago and I'm also shocked to see an update indicating it's still a problem! I think I too will just submit for a refund and indicate that the reason why is the complete and utter la k of support on this topic - which makes the game actually unplayable. Seems like a legit reason to me. Thanks for the idea 👍

**Update to above, adding the "EA app" as a non steam game to the steam library also fixes the issue.

The EA app is still garbage, there's no reason to have a launcher for a launcher for a launcher when the game could just be installed and ran but hey line go up or some nonsense.
