Are the servers down or not?

I wonder what the point is of the server status page, then...

The Server Status page is great for checking if the server crashed during normal times but during maintenance, the best way to know if the servers are up is to either log in and see for yourself, or checking their Twitter: https://twitter.com/swtor/with_replies

It's kind of sad.  In NA we're currently 2 1/2 hours over their announced outage window and there is still ZERO communication with their customers about what's going on.  I get that stuff happens, but why have a team dedicated to communicating with customers if they're not going to be allowed to do their jobs.  Heck if I pulled this kind of thing at my job, I'd have a small army of shouting VPs crowding into my cube demanding some answers.

Throw us a bone BW and let us know what's going on.  Bad news delivered is always better than no news, which just lets imaginations go nuts.  (kind of like the furor over the level sync non-issue)

No need to get up in arms, they did post an update on the forums and confirmed that there are issues with the client patching: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=8624354#edit8624354

From my understanding, players with the streaming launcher (BitRaider) are not able to download the patch, only people with the old launcher can. So they are extending the maintenance until everyone is able to download the patch. Hopefully, it won't take much longer. 🙂

No problem, I guess they fixed the forums at least.  I hadn't seen this thread updating there yet.

I feel for poor Eric, that guy is in a no-win position most days.  😃

Oh yes, Community Manager is one of the most ungrateful jobs. He has to take the blame for things that are not even his fault. 🤔
