In swtor i keep seeing black line surrounding objects i messed around with every setting and no results is there any way to fix this issue?
how do i turn it off
Not 100% sure for AMD as I use Nvidia , but if you install radeon pro they have a screen showing the ambient occlusion settings that can be unticked per game , see this link
Back in your radeon settings like the screenshot link you gave did you find where to edit settings for swtor ? unsure if it is there as well as in radeon pro
It may be called SSAO as well if you see that anywhere
One of my games was in the list, swtor wasn't so what should i do?
radeonpro isnt the same as CCC
Try the settings below initially in that game profile , leave AA off ingame as well
Anti-Aliasing Mode - Override application settings
Anti-Aliasing Samples - 8x --- (you may want to try 2x or 4x)
Filter - Standard
Anti-Aliasing Method - Multisampling
Morphological Filtering - Off
Anistropic Filtering - Override apllication settings
Anisotropic Filtering Level - 16x
Texture Filtering Quality - High Quality
Surface Format Optimization - On
Wait for Vertical Refresh - Off, unless application specifies
OpenGL Triple buffering - Off
Tessellation Mode - AMD optimized
Maximum Tessellation - AMD optimized
Yep I understand that
In your radeon settings (the place you gave in the screenshot once you add the game profile by clicking add in the top right and then go to swtor.exe that I gave the path for, then look for similar settings to below
that isn't the place i have mine looks completely different
Same settings , just newer display outlay , see if that has any affect with AA off in game
i got to go to school for now ill let you know if it worked after school
Ok , its 9pm here to give you an idea of my time zone 🙂
It managed to get rid of most lines but my characters hair has lines now https://gyazo.com/0e7394983e5990a0cba9aa4fc8585e41
also i experience some screen tearing is this natural in swtor because i dont get screen tearing in any other games
Glad to hear there is finally a change with the lines, not sure if can do more with the hair
Best settings ingame for you are likely below
Bloom - Checked -- (some people prefer unchecked)
Conversation Depth of Field - Checked -- (again totally your preference to see the ingame intros have character focus)
Texture Quality - High
Shader Complexity - High
Anti Aliasing - OFF ( make sure this is off as you have set your gfx card settings to do this)
Character Level of Detail - High
Texture Anisotropy - High
Shadow Quality - High
Character Texture Atlasing - High
Grass Quality - 100%
Tree Quality - 100%
Visible Character Limit - Very High
How are you playing at present see if fullscreen (window) mode plays better for example then fullscreen.
When in fullscreen test with vsynch enabled and see if it is better or worse when playing as well
I still get slight screen tearing at times
Not sure how much more help I can be with this, limited with driver etc ,
What I can recommend is that given you are on Win 10 , right mouse click on the game shortcut and select properties, then go to the compat tab and tick "disable fullscreen optimizations"
I do not expect this to have any impact on screen tearing though, but will avoid other issues seen on win 10.
edit - Also good to apply this directx redist - Link
Fullscreen windowed screen tears a bit less
The only other suggestion I can make is to place shadow quality on low ingame and lower the shadow map resolution slider to something like 1024
