@Mircea86 have you gone into your switchable graphics options ans specified for SWTOR to use the AMD high performance GPU? If you don't do this it will default to the standard low performance internal GPU and may not render at the resolution or graphics level that you wish creating the problem that you describe.
On my gaming laptop with the dual GPUs in order to specify the high performance GPU right click on the desktop, then select "configure switchable graphics", then either choose SWTOR or add SWTOR to the program listing and then choose then under the "Graphics Settings" pull down menu choose "High Performance". Also make sure that you go to your power settings, then choose High Performance and do not use balanced or power saving.
Have you tried editing the client_setting file to the below

Hello,
So... i setup up manually SWTOR to start with the AMD high performance GPU but nothing changed, even if i switched from "Balance" Power Plan to "High Performance" Power Plan.
Then i go to second post and i change
D3DFullScreen = false (was set on true)RefreshRate = 60 (nothing needed to change here).I wanted to change also the change "Fullscreen = false" like it says in the post but in my client_setting "Fullscreen" line doesn't exist.Well after i make those changes i entered the game and on my surprise it was set by default on 1920x1080.... sooo the problem looked solved, but it wasn't really fully solved... why i say that:- it is stuck on "Very low" level of details, and if i try to change anything at graphics, after i press the "Apply" button a pop-up window appear in the middle of the screen that ask me if i wanna "keep the changes" or "revert". In this point the game become stuck... can't press "keep the changes" or "revert"... can't do anything.- And the other problem is... after i press the windows button from the keyboard the minimize the game on the start bar, when i press the icon game from the bar to make it full screen again the game simply doesn't restore back.Any ideeas for those two problems?Beside that everything looks, and working normaly until now. Thanks again for spending your time trying to solve my problem.Have a great day,- proxos66610 years agoHero+
You can manually add the fullscreen line to the client_settings file
It may be worth looking at the swtor folder in the appdata location where the client_settings file is , try right mouse clicking on that folder and untick read only on the folder properties to ensure the game has access to write
