[bug] Class Mission item reward requiring expansion.

I didn't find any post about this bug so here it goes.
After finishing the smuggler class mission series on Hoth the green item reward from the mission said that it required Rise of the Hutt Cartel Expansion, but since this is a mission from the class stories from when the game was first released it should not require any expansion at all. I am sure this is some sort of bug with the 4.0 patch.

  • its definitely not fixed at all... i found this issue several times (main weapon rewards requiring hutt dlc) on several classes i had been leveling. and even today, on a fresh server/legacy/level 1 characters, my nephew leveled up 3 classes himself up to about level 15-20 each and found this present multiple times.  i mean for sure just the bounty hunter starting planet he got this issue twice on hutt planet alone.

    my solution was that on my server/legacy i have alt crafters leveled to about 400 from launch, so it took real money to unlock that preferred 3rd crew skill to make it so i can craft my own weapons...

    i guess the adaptive trainee + modification stuff that you just purchase every 4 levels from the vendor is the only band-aid..

    a simple fix (for me) would be for dev team to just add in weapons of your specialization as part of the loot table in heroics reward boxes... so far i've done dozens and dozens of heroics level 25-40+ on five characters this week... zero were main hand weapons...

    edit: doing heroics below level 30, my nephew found 2 main hand weapons as reward. both require hutt dlc...

    edit: so scratch the 1-50 heroics reward idea "solution"... those also require hutt dlc... come on bioware...

    i know i'm ranting, but this hutt dlc requirement in non-dlc quest rewards is a real kick in the face.

    even all the sub-level 50 main hand weapons i get from crew-mission treasure-hunting lockboxes... require the hutt dlc...

    okay, so maybe i am blind.

    i am at the adaptive gear vendor in empire fleet... i am looking for a main hand light saber that a sith warrior (or jedi knight) can equip... no such weapon is being sold by this vendor. all the other classes weapons are for sale. but this one is missing.

    so truly, for the 4 specs of warrior and knight.. no main hand is available here??? did a patch accidentally remove this or what am i doing wrong? i have no way of getting a weapon, since everything else all requires Hutt DLC, or high end artifice crafting... wth.

    it seems there should be an "initiate's lightsaber" for sale here... for warrior and knight.

    or

    the "acolyte's lightsaber" should not be limited to the inquisitor and consular...

    You're right, I don't think there is a mainhand saber for sale there. If you're just looking for a customizable lightsaber, you should have received one as a reward on the last mission of the starting planet (Tython/Korriban/Ord Mantell/Hutta). If it's missing, send a quick email to support@swtor.com with your account name, character name, and what you're missing. Customer Service will hopefully sort you out.

    YES I KNOW. I really hope this is a bug.. the game and story is getting interesting at about level 20+ and I was honestly considering getting a subscription.. but it’s really been bothering me that all lightsabers in game after your first one require that dumb expansion! If I have to subscribe to get any other saber other than the starter then I’m ditching this game. Hate when they shove this down your throat.

    @horsessupremacy If you send an email to support@swtor.com describing the issue and including the name of the item, the in-game guys might be able to replace the item.
