Can't access my account (security key)

Hello,

I know this has been asked a million times but here it goes... I decide to go back to the game and the mobile security key i used is no longer attainable.

I have tried the "log in and leave the security key blank" (the message to remove the key doesnt show up) and the "call to support center" (the call goes straight to a beepng tone where no one answers).

Since I cant log into my account I cannot subscribe again or configure my security key.

Plz, I need some help here.

Here's what you need to do to remove your Security Token:

    1. Log in with your Display Name and Password (leave the Security Token field empty)
    2. On the next page, click the "Lost Your Security Key?" link directly below the textbox.
    3. You'll then have the option to receive a one-time password to your e-mail address, which you can use to remove the security key.

  • As I said in my previous post, the message you posted a pic doesnt show, it only says "LOGIN FAILED"...  hence the question.

It may very well be due to that "subscribers only" policy that i dont have the option, dont know, but i sure as hell am using the right credentials to log in

Ah okay, "LOGIN FAILED" means you entered either the wrong Display Name or the wrong password. Otherwise you would see the page in my screenshot.

Keep in mind that you can no longer log in with your e-mail address but you have to use the Display Name, which is identical to the name on the forums. If you forgot your Display Name, you can find it out here: https://account.swtor.com/user/displayname/recover

And if you forgot your password, you can recover it here: https://account.swtor.com/user/password/recover

  • Just to be sure, I obtained my Display Name from the link you provided, however, the password also asks me for the security key to be able to change it (although i know what password it is).

I'm kinda stuck on this.  Thank you for all your answers, however, they were ones i already tested before posting here to no avail  :<

So, still stuck in this matter.

That's a bummer, but you are definitely using the wrong password. Maybe you changed it sometime or are thinking of a different password?

Your SWTOR account is connected to your EA account, so you should be able to login with the same password as you logged in here to Answers HQ. You can try changing the password on your EA Account (https://account.origin.com/cp-ui/aboutme/index?locale=en_US), that should also update the password for SWTOR and you should be able to get to the security key page.

  • I literally just created a new account with my origin ID, which is different from the Display Name.... This must be due to my account be as old as the game when it was LucasArts...

Updating the post to let you all know I've fixed this... Dont know why but at the gazillion try with the same password, it worked...

    All's well that ends well.

Cheers and thnx for your help.

    @TobokeruNeko  @Raidell

For Info The passwords for the origin account and the swtor account can become linked

So if you change the origin password to one different on the swtor account, the new origin password can be replicated on the swtor account, so when you try and login with the password you think it fails as the password has changed.
