I'm having the same issue. I don't want to sign up on STEAM, so I downloaded the standalone client.

I'd like to sign up on the site, but I get this:

is flagged to check the cause , response will be in about 10 hrs when online for the day

do not try to purchase on steam (or use codes) at present as this error indicates gametime will not add to the account from any source

The Linked EA account (not Deadrabbitgirl) has been disabled and its data has been wiped

use this link to try and restore the account the email needed is the same mcmaster.ca email used on the swtor account

for future purchases, use incognito mode on chrome initially if you purchase on swtor.com to be sure browser cache and cookies is cleared.

    support see no account issue and no purchase attempts on the swtor account Mexxar
    
    try using incognito mode with chrome or delete the web browser cache and cookies and see if it persists
