Chapter 16 Won't Start

I downloaded the patch last night and it let me select the mission but then the conversation icon kept loading but the conversation doesn't start. I canceled it and then tried to go over to Lana and start the conversation but it won't allow me to. This keeps happening and it's extremely frustrating.

Run a repair and lower all gfx to low

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner.
If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pulldown on the top right and select settings, then press repair.

Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut,
select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher
  • I did delete the Bitfolder folder and it didn't really help and the repair option doesn't work it says  it didn't detect any issues.

Did you lower all the gfx settings as well ?

repair is one or the other , for non streaming its the repair on the launcher, for streaming its deleting the bitraider folder to trigger.

delete the games cache file as well , go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor and delete just the file called diskcachearena

may need a dxdiag if this persists to understand system a bit better

  • I deleted the cache file and still nothing then I lowered the settings again and it still wouldn't help. The thing is I tried to have conversations with other missions and it worked it's only this one i'm having problems with.

Doesn't hurt to delete the bitraider folder again in case it missed something

Not knowing your hardware specs, see this thread in that case it appeared to be shader complexity was the cause of issues on a laptop with a 540M video card.

Something else to do is to right mouse click on the character portrait when on say fleet and select "reset all active phases" just to get back to a clean slate.
