choppy graphics when running/rotating camera
Good morning everyone. Wednesday I decided to re-play swtor after a long brake . I have always played swtor since it's launch and I never experienced any issue gameplay wise and graphic wise. Had the common disconect there and there but that's it.
So i log in, create a new inquisitor to get back in the saddle and...choppy graphics. Not horrible enought to be a a deal breaker, but enough to notice and to know that it's the first time i ever experienced this situation.
Play a little while then SWTOR close on me, no error message, no black screen, no froze, just back to desktop. I restart, start playing to mins, game crash again.
I decide to disable bitraider, so i do just that, re download the game, re-login.....aaannnd still choppy graph, and the same crash not long after.
On a hunch a check windows log event and see multiple event id 19: internal parity error, across multiple cores. First time I experienced that.
I decided to run intel diagnostic tool, failed at IMC. Set the programm to continue enven if a fail occur, continue to math test then BSOD of system_service_exception.
reboot the pc, boot just fine, so I decide to go to bed and search for a fix the next day
So yesterday, do a little googling about the situation, and realized my bios settings might be the cause, so I go in my bios and return the settings to default. Go back to play SWTOR and the choppyness is still there BUT! no errors.
SO ! now I'm a bit lost about what could be the culprit. Every other games I have don't have that bug, they run as hell even when the erros were an issue.
The bug appear mostly when my toon move. If I stand still, the environnement and other players can move without creating choppiness. I have no problem engaging into combat, skills a prompt to activate and the animations are fluid. Cutscenes are perfect also, sound is in sync. My settings are set to high but it always been like that without causing issues.
the core of the bug really seems to be the camera movement , so if anyone could give me an answer, I would be really gratefull!
My build:
Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit
Asus P8Z68-V/GEN 3
Intel I7-3770K
2 X 4g corsair vengence DDR3
Nvidia GTX 680
Corsair 750i PSU
asus ve278h monitor
Razer Ornata chroma KEyboard
Logitech G600 mouse
Glad to hear things are better now
Hard to say exactly without having your system in front of me, but it is likely tied to vsynch so if you want to play in fullscreen try disabling vsynch and switch shadows to low, otherwise fullscreen (window) should be just fine too 🙂
