The backstory: Updated to Windows 10 when it released. Had ongoing issues with Win10 and AMD video drivers fighting. Guess they finally knocked a lamp over or something and trashed my windows inst...

Ok so those AMD drivers were the ones I tried - first the 15.7.1 (stable) then the 15.10 (beta) and no luck.
I forgot all about the good ol' Omega drivers! I used to use them all the time, then I started having a bad run with them. You get ultra out of your HD7700? Wow - I've never really been able to go above "High" with the AMD drivers. Doesn't look like they attached but I'll find them and give them a try!
Will report back in later.
*Edit - dumb question - when you said "omega drivers" I was remembering the old optimized drivers that some group used to put out for both the AMDs and the Radeons. All I'm finding when searching is that I guess AMD is calling their newer drivers "omega?" What am I missing here?

have you actually checked the temps of CPU and GPU ?
5 - 10 minutes is in the realms of heat buildup time wise try using hwinfo
Edit - that's odd have you changed the orientation the diag is reporting the res backwards on the Dell

Yes, I have monitored temps for both CPU and GPU. Well within acceptable (peaks below ~50c). Heat was one of the first things I looked at because yes, 5-10 minutes sure seems like it could be that 🙂
Disregard the monitor set-up - Monitor 2 is my main, the Dell is in portrait mode as pretty much just a web viewer.
Nice speeder, BTW 🙂have to get going for the night 1130pm here , ensure the game shortcut is running as administrator
if this is a driver issue nothing will help I don't think, except maybe trialing turning different settings off.

I'm going to go out on a limb, knock on wood, cross my fingers, throw a pinch of salt over my shoulder, and say that I think I have actually fixed the issue.
More followup:
--while looking around for the omega drivers, I noticed an AMD chipset driver download - Most of my chipset is AMD (mobo is an older Asus m5a97), so thought what the heck. Didn't make a difference, just thought I would mention it.
--Cleared all my WIndows event logs again and started playing. Sure enough, another crash...
I noticed in my Windows event logs, the *only* things geting logged between the time I cleared it and the time of the crash were Windows security and crypto things (pretty routine)...then within a minute prior to the crash, I nopted I had a service that started up - cupz138.
Did research, didn't find too much, but thought it was odd starting up out of my app data/local/temp folder. Malwarebytes didn't trigger anything on it, but not sure where it came from (speccy was one source mentioned, but not running that)
Sooo....deleted everything out of said temp folder, rebooted, I've now been up in game for just over an hour. Only one issue that happened during that hour - weird sound glitch where all sounds stopped working from the game (but still worked from other parts of my computer). Restarted the game and no further issues.
Guess maybe I was barking up the wrong tree the whole time.
Anyway - I'll send another post later in the day after I've had the game up for a longer test, but I'm "cautiously optimistic" at this point.
@DBWoodynz - if you could forward me more info on those Omega drivers, that would be great, would love to improve my framerate. Right now I'm running 50-60fps in medium.

Maybe not yet. Played for about an hour and a half, then crash. Played about 30 minutes, then crash.
Convinced I'm getting closer though. Thinking I need to go back to the stable drivers, as I'm still seeing driver crashes and other (non-specific) hardware issues.I'm Such a doofis; the Omega Drivers I was thinking of was for another Video Card... I am currently using 15.2 for my HD7770; Ultra can be obtained on a 1920x1080 by simply turning off shadows.
I am alittle funny on this, I love the ATI cards, but lets be serious.. they spit out a fast and pretty picture; but when it comes to shadows.. Nvida has kicked their arse every step of the way for years... like forever ago when I was rocking a 3310 and a 3315, so you know it was good.
Even with Shadows off (Shadow Quality) the game is still very very nice looking; and I keep my responsiveness for raiding.
Sorry but I am only 1 partial coffee into my day and I can't think of it for the life of me where to get 15.2 from now
Strangely enough this just started happening to me this afternoon. I have not made any changes to my pc and there have been no updates since yesterday when I was playing just fine. Today, not only does the game crash within moments of choosing a character, but my whole pc crashes and shuts down.
Anyone else having crash problems???

No worries on the drivers. Years ago, there was a group that used to hack and optimize the drivers - used to get much better framerate, etc out of them. They took out the bloat, sped them up, etc. I used to use them religiously instead of the official drivers, but then they started having a string of problems and I switched to using the officials.
Seems like I'm still having issues with drivers crashing - whether on the betas or the last stables. Starting to wonder/worry that I might have a hardware issue.
I'll see if I can find the 15.2 drivers that you're using and give them a try. Feel like I'm running out of options ☹️

Hate to sound like the things that were suggested to me over and over again, but that really does sound like a heat or voltage problem if it is shutting down the whole system.
In looking around, I've seen other people with similar problems to mine after this latest patch - but mine was happening the day before the patch.
Have you checked your windows event viewer to see what is happening around the same time as your crash? I've been finding that helpful...Understandably, Owen always gets funny when I mention this to folks, But 'we' are running HD7000 series cards, they are not new.. and like anything do require maintenance ~once - twice a year.
What I do with mine, is I pull mine to bits and clean all the dust and junk out of the fans, copper cooling fins, everything... I scrub that bad boy up so it looks like new, I even go as far as to add sewing machine oil to the fans reservoir's so that the bearings are nice and quiet again. Doing all this allows me to change the Thermal Paste in the process, as it's not designed to last forever.
If this is/was something that you were planning to do, then I would !STRONGLY! suggest that you...
1) Get all the materials you will need before you start.
2) Ensure you watch as many YouTube videos as you can of someone doing the exact same thing on the same Vcard as you have.
3: Secure a 'backup' Video Card incase you end up over your head.. I have an old HD4990 that I still to this day use as a back up and it does well on Windows 10, despite AMD don't want me to continue using it.
*Materials Required, correctly sized tools (the CORRECT tools) Gkeys (look like stars), small Philips/flatheads.. cotton wool buds, Rubbing Alcohol (iso), a small paintbrush for moving/breaking dust build up's, Sewing Machine Oil, or some other High Grade oil for high speed moving parts... SUPER HIGH GRADE THERMAL PASTE! << Do Not Get the Cheap Stuff!.
Others would just suggest using a can of compressed air to blow it out; I'm lazy and use the Garden Leaf Blower... sht moves when I do.
Honestly I wouldn't even begin to know what to look for, I even had to google how to look at the event log...

Here is the best I can suggest.
Open up event viewer.
In the left column, open all the dropdownsGo into each entry there, then look on the right and see if there's an option to "clear log." Most of them have it, some won't.
Fire up your game, play until crash. Make sure you note the time of the crash!
See what entries there are around the time that your game/system crashed. You'll likely have events from rebooting, etc (if you crash all the way to power off as you said, anyway)
The ones that will probably be most relevant will be in the following (from the left column):
Windows logs > Application
Windows logs > System
Applications and Services Logs > Hardware Events
There might be relevant info in otehr areas, but that's a basic start.
So for instance, if you see something that happens in the log at about the same minute as your game crashed, there's a good chance they are related. You can then pull things out of that log and google them. Or, you can open up a "run" in windows and type msinfo32, in the window that opens, go to file > export, safe the text file, and paste it up here and we can look to see what we see...
(Note - if you do the msinfo32 export, the part that I mentioned above about clearing the event viewer logs first is very helpful - otherwise it will dump every single event, error, warning, etc. since the beginning of time for your windows install)well here it is...I have no idea what I am looking for or looking at. I logged in at about 7:34pm and had a total crash at about 7:38 where the computer shut down. I cleared the log before doing this and here is the log after:

How do I boot up in safe mode? And I don't have "Samsung New PC Studio" installed but I do have Samsung Kies3 and Samsung Story Album viewer installed. Could it be one of those programs? And just to understand correctly, it is something from a Samsung program that is blocking \C:\Windows\SysWOW64\FsUsbExDisk.SYS from loading, which is needed to load/run to allow SWtoR to operate without crashing my PC?
Usually pressing F8 on bootup before windows actually loads should offer safe mode as a selection

Windows appears to be blocking FsUsbExDisk.SYS which is usually associated with a Samsung program
When In safe mode can also try going to
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folder and cut the file called FsUsbExDisk.SYS and place it in say c:\temp for now
Tried both suggestions and no luck.
Describe again exactly what is occuring
I log in ok.
Once the game launches and I am in game able to choose a character, whether I stay on the character selection screen, or go in game with a character, within 4 to 5 minutes my whole computer just shuts down.
Ok what are the CPU and GPU temps reporting idle and with the game started ? if need use this to check

So my CPU temperatures are:
idle: 24
with launcher: 26.5
in game just before crash: 50
GPU temperatures are:
idle: 42
with launcher: 43
in game just before crash: 75
Is this my issue? Overheating? Do I just need a new cooler for my pc?

I see no issue with the temps being reported by the sensors
Check all the fans are working though , the issue may not be being reported by the sensors, one thing to check is take the side of the case off and blow a fan directly in and see if it has any affect at all.
There is no easy way to narrow this down, anyone with thoughts is welcome
Thanks dude. It baffles me, I mean I'm obviously not IT savvy, but I find it weird that within a few hours it goes from working fine to the game crashing my pc to the point of killing the power. At least my laptop is working fine so I can still play. But I would still love to solve the problem on my main computer.
