Cutscene dialogue is muffled and hard to understand

Dialogue is muffled and quiet during cutscenes, I've tried everything I can think of. I've moved all the volume sliders around, turned off all sound except voices (actually made it worse somehow), restarted game, restarted computer. This has only been going on for the last day. I don't understand, I haven't changed anything.

Some sound cards have a Karaoke function and remove all voices, maybe this is what's going on here. In the Windows task bar, right-click on your sound icon and go to the properties for your speaker/headphone and make sure this setting is not turned on. If you have installed an external audio program like the Realtek Audio Manager, also make sure to check those settings.

This could also be a different problem so let us know if this didn't work so we can try something else.

Swtor uses your Default Sound Settings; without the game running you must go to your Windows Desktop, in the bottom right corner down by your clock you  will find a white speaker icon, right click this and select - "Playback Devices".... Now select the device you wish to use and ensure that it is set to the Default, it should have a green icon over the device.

    Now try your game again.

*Sometimes a windows update or plugging in a headset can change this setting, its nothing major just follow these steps when it does happen.
