Error message when trying to buy subscription for SWTOR

I have returned to SWTOR after several years. And I want to play the full game and use my old chars and their gear so I need to buy Subscription.

But I get the following errormessage when I press buy  : "There is an issue with your Electronic Arts account which will prevent SWTOR purchases until resolved. Please contact customer support for further assistance. "

I have checked my EA account and it is active. And I have updated my payment method so that should be in order. My email on EA account and on SWTOR.com is also the same.

I have written ea.com help to check if my account should be banned or something. But they reply that all is good and told me to look for answers here on forum. Which I have done but without luck.

I have been through every setting on both accounts and nothing looks wrong so I have no idea where to go from here.

My displayname in SWTOR is "ScooterMogens"

Calling foreign helpdesk is not an option for me ☹️

I hope someone here can help me.

Regards ScooterMogens/Carsten

Using the same email on account does not create a linkage, linkage was made on account creation using the email used to create the swtor account originally
    pasted the common response below

Common for this issue is that the linked ea account has been disabled needing a password reset, that EA account likley uses the same email address you have used to create the swtor account originally, so if you have changed the email on the swtor account though, try using the original email used on the swtor account

use this link  to reset the password then login on that EA account

Be sure to use incognito mode with chrome or delete the browser cache and cookies to be sure it isnt cached if purchasing on swtor.com

otherwise call swtor support when the lines are open https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Getting-help-with-SW-TOR-from-another-country...

  • Thanks. I think the problem lies in the connected accounts on EA.com.

I am playing on PC and not through Steam or anything. So I don't know which of the "connected accounts" I need to use to connect my SWTOR-account to my EA-account.

    Any ideas?

    @1c0e78266266f02c

account linkage between EA and Swtor was made on account creation, that linkage is permanent and cant be changed

both accounts initially use the same email to create the swtor account but can now use different emails and passwords and remain linked

ordinarily if you go to the payment history page on the swtor account the email used on the ea account is listed on that page but if disabled you may not be able to access that page

call swtor support when the lines are open on monday if you cant resolve this
