Female smuggler voice distorted

Hi, I just made a new female Togruta smuggler. I did the first half of Ord Mantell with no problems, then all of a sudden her voice started sounding more like SCORPIO - all robotic and distorted.  I've finished the main story on several character types and haven't seen this happen on any of them before.

First, I did the standard things: logged out and back in. Quit the game and restarted. Turned the computer off and restarted. No joy.

I did a bit of a trawl around the CS questions here, but couldn't find the same problem. I did find one where someone was having different problems with sound and it was suggested to run a repair on the installation. I did that with no effect. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and still no difference.

So, it's not game breaking - it just sounds weird. But I went to the trouble of spending coins for cosmetics and it's disappointing that the voice is spoiling the effect.

Has anyone else come across this? Are there any more suggestions?

Just as a question, did you recently equip her with a head slot item? Even though a Togruta does not show those, their voice will still be modulated if the headpiece does modulates the voice. One thing that has worked in the past for it, is to hit c, hit the little armor looking icon to the right of that window, and checking 'hide head slot'. If you can't do that, you might have to find a different headgear to equip her with.

Thanks, that did it. I'd cleared out all the promotional mails and stuck the HK-55 helmet on for the extra 20 armour.  So, yeah, I had an invisible robot head on.

    Thanks again.
