Game immediately crashes after launch, post 7.51

Unfortunately, nothing in that guide changed anything about my problem; the game continues to crash after a short black screen after hitting the play button.

can you post the contents of the client_setting file here and what video card you have

Have you also tried a game repair ? which needs to be after login and the play button is lit up ? unless this is a steam install then its per this link for directions

I have tried a game repair - through steam - multiple times, as well as a fresh install. I adjusted the client_settings.ini file as instructed; the black screen immediately prior to the crash launches in windowed mode and then crashes anyway.

this can also be caused by a 3rd party overlay, say similar to steams overlay , disable the steam overlay and any others you are aware of and see if it helps

the only other thing file wise if its corrupted the games cache file called diskcachearena , when the game and launcher is closed it can be deleted at C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor (default folder location, so locate the steam install)  once deleted a fresh one is auto created on the next game launch

edit: your location will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor\

What if that file doesn't exist? That folder contains the 'retailclient' folder and nothing else. Searching for 'diskcachearena' in the base folder says nothing matches the search.
