Hardware or game issue?

Hey all, been having some problems with the game. I recently reinstalled the game to play again after not being on in a bit. Download and everything went smoothly, logged in, checked out my main toon...

    So, after dialing back the settings for shadows in game, I've had multiple 2-3 hour sessions without any crashes or blue screens. I'm kicking myself for not trying something this simple already! Since I haven't been having any issues, I'm gonna mark this solved for now. Thanks for the input and assistance you provided!

I have seen one other player get BSOD recently, also win 7 with a R9 280x series card , they went back to  16.7.3  driver version  , see this link

I tried that once before and still got the crashes, however this time I noticed that Guru DDU wasn't completely removing all the old AMD driver files. I manually cleaned them out and reinstalled 16.7.3. Played for about an hour and a half with no crashes before I left this morning, and played for about two hours tonight before my server went down, so it looks like that might have been the problem. I'll wait until I play more tomorrow before I mark solved, but things are looking good. Thanks for the input! Kicking myself for not noticing something so simple.

EDIT: Also, would love to know where you got the SWTOR avatar for this forum!

EDIT 2: Okay, got much farther along time-wise than last time, but still experienced a crash followed by a BSOD on relog tonight. Back to square one, I suppose.

    If you press the windows key and type "reliability" open the reliability history and look and see what entries are there , is there anything different to 116 referencing the amd file ?

    Also if you want in case there is a conflict with the bitraider services , try another install as non streaming per the directions at this link

      Okay, so after work and an internet outage in my area, I can get back to this. I had disabled BitRaider already, so I don't think that would be interfering at all. I checked my reliability reports, and see some that show BCCode 117, even though the actual blue screens always showed BCCode 116 and never 117, as does the BlueScreenViewer program, with the paramters being antikmpag.sys, dxgkrnl.sys, and dxgmms1.sys, which I understand are the AMD drivers and the DirectX drivers respectively (correct me if I'm wrong). After my ISP repaired the internet out here, I uninstalled and did a clean SWTOR install (and disabled BitRaider). I am still receiving the same results. Game has a CTD after around 1.5 hours of play, and a BSOD upon relaunching the game. If I just restart my computer after the CTD, the blue screen doesn't happen.

      As of now, this issue is still exclusive to SWTOR, as no other game I play has this problem even after extended periods of playtime. Temperatures are normal across the board for all my hardware according to my monitor.

        If you are recording 117 as well as 116 , downclock the card and see if it persists

        Swtor cannot be the cause of a bluescreen , but it can be the trigger which is what will be occuring here

        Below is the Microsoft details on 116 and 117 , if it isn't driver related it is usually hardware, whether that is temp, voltage or something else is the hard part to work out i'm afraid.

        If the driver has fallen over completely, it is isnt surprising to see a BSOD occur when trying to relaunch a game immediately, hence why on reboot it doesnt happen.
