hk-51 missing

So, I've recently returned to the game after a long hiatus (just under 3 years), and started the process of sorting out the HUGE backlog of mail and such, and noticed I was missing my HK-51 Companion. In the mail were several labeled 'Character deleted', and the following items; HK-51's Circuitry Unit, Audio Triangulator, Personality Chip, Dicer (a knife), and a Scoped Assassinator (sniper rifle). I've found out this was due to the patch 4.0 companion changes. However, the HK-51 Companion is not to be found. When I first logged in, I noticed there seemed to be a server merge, and most of my characters ended up on 2 servers, crammed under 2 Legacies, neither of which has the HK-51 unlocked under character perks (Treek is unlocked under one of the legacies, but HK is not under either). Is there anything that can be done, or is it chalked up to being a casualty of server merger crunch, and I'm expected to start the HK quests all over again (and either subscribe again or pay to unlock the quest)... thoroughly confused...

The less-than-satisfactory reply I received from CS via email was that, despite the fact that I received these items in the mail, there were no records that I had completed the quests and received HK-51 as a companion. With a note of finality, I was given the option of paying for the access to Section X to get the quest, or subscribe. In other words, "Despite the evidence showing you had HK, we are unable to see anything else that says you did. The only option to get him is to pay. Good Day.". The entire communication reeks of money grab, and  gives me an example of why I left the game to begin with.

If you had HK-51 on that character (which you seem to, otherwise you wouldn't have received these mails), he should still be there, unless you started Knights of the Fallen Empire, Eternal Throne, Iokath or Ossus. If you didn't start any of those, I recommend writing to support@swtor.com or creating a ticket and asking for an investigation. Companions can go missing and when they don't come back automatically or with a quest reset, usually CS can set them as active again for you. The wait time at the moment is about 24-48 hours.
