Installation stuck at 99.7%

I'm trying to play this game since yesterday. I let the game install while I went to sleep and when I woke up, the process stopped at 99.7%. The download speed was varying from 3.5 to 5.5 MB/s but the % had no change at all.

So what I have tried until now:

1- Of course, closing and reopening the launcher: Stuck at 99.7% all the time.

2- Restarting PC

3- Launcher repair tool: no success.

4 - Disk check and memtest: both were fine.

5-  Checked if BitRaider service was running like this post suggested :http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/Download-issue/m-p/5029180#U5029180

6- Deleting the BitRaider folder and force the launcher to verify all data again.

7-  Completely removing and reinstalling the game. The download was pretty fast, but again, stuck at 99.7%.

7.1 -  When I reinstalled, I chose another folder.  Before, it was installed at C:\Games and now it's installed at C:\Program Files (x86).

What else can I try??

My drivers are up to date, and I was able to play this game last year or early this year (can't remember) pretty fine, but now I'm struggling trying to install the game.

Edit: I'm adding the image of what the launcher looks like and the log. I tried some things again, like repair tool and restarting launcher/PC some tiems and  as you can see, now it's stuck at 99.82%.

  • Nice guide!! A very well done job, congratulations!

But I'm still having one problem: My Installing is always getting stuck at 99.7% +-.

I made a post about it here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/Installation-stuck-at-99-7/m-p/5037391#U5037391

There you can see the launcher log and how it got stuck at 99.82% that time ( I tried to let the launcher open for over 1 hour after that log was made, and the result is the same, only with more lines of 99.82%)

Now I tried to follow your guide step by step and even turning my anti-virus off before patching, but no success at all. Following the guide got me stuck at 99.64%.

I don't know if know how to deal with it, but at this time any help is appreciated 🙂

  • @Bluesnow7

Merry blah blah blah; something emailed me so here I am...

    Looking at the log...

    "2015-12-22 19:29:17 INFO Loaded agreements from C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\eula.settings
    2015-12-22 19:29:17 INFO Loaded settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\launcher.settings
2015-12-22 19:29:17 INFO Sending crash dumps to [https://patcher-crash.swtor.com/crashcatch]"

This would have me thinking that it is either the folder in question is in 'Read Only' which my 'guide' does address; or there is a lack of permission being given by Windows to make the file change.. at the end.. Surely if you just manually add this file from an outside source life would be fine again?... lets try...

You will see that I have provided my launcher.settings.ini file to this post so that you can grab it and try.

    Enjoy

Grrr it won't let me add the file "launcher.settings" to this post

This is what it contains.. make one

MOD EDIT - Just for awareness this will trigger a new complete game download .....

  • Thank you both for the replys!

I tried what @proxos666 mentioned and let the launcher download archives while I went to sleep and it worked!! Woke up and the game had finish the download completely!

If I ever change to streaming version and keep getting error, I'll try what you mentioned 🙂
