I am sith warrior but no alert on companion tab, no new missions either
More then likely a bug. There are several with this update and it may require a bug fix.
If your a subscriber I would submit an in-game ticket to see if they can restore the alert.
If you are not a subscriber email support@swtor.com.
Note it may take 2-3 business days for a response.
