I had this problem, too.
I jumped back to my stronghold right after Chapter III but before starting IV.
Now it's telling me that I don't have the companion I need to.Here's the workaround I discovered:
- Use your ship and travel to Zakuul
- You'll now have the option to reset the quest.
- Go back to your ship and the play button should function normally now.
