Launcher checking for updates...

I am trying to log into the game for the first time in a year and I am getting this problem when I try to boot up the non-steam launcher. I tried running as administrator and have put exceptions for the launcher and game in my Norton 360 antivirus and firewall.

I ended up uninstalling the game and reinstalling and it solved it. I haven't re-subscribed yet, but will update here once I do.

Try under a clean boot and reboot the router/modem if not done so yet

Had this issue,
I had to reinstall the launcher and that sorted it. unfortunately means you'll redownload the game, but it fixed the problem.
Lemme know if you're able to subscribe or add game time if you do that.
