Launcher stuck at -100%

I'm new to SWTOR, and I loved reviews and videos about it. I just recently downloaded the launcher and I opened it, once I put in my account info (Display name, password, security code.), it sent me to the downloading part of the launcher, but then it says this "Installing Downloading -100%". And it's just stuck like that, I'm not sure if any progress is actually being made, so I just sat there for about 2 hours just waiting it to finish (if the installation is actually going) but it never did. I'm not sure if this is a glitch but I need help. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher numerous times.

    Close launcher.

    Open launcher.settings (located in installation folder) with notepad.

    Set  "bitraider_disable": false     ->     "bitraider_disable": true

    Restart launcher.

    MOD Edit - Best is to follow the directions here if wanting to disable bitraider

    Might be a firewall issue.  Add swtor.exe and launcher.exe to your firwall and just in case anti-virus safe list.  Let me know how that goes.

    I've found the issue! My Norton was still active, even though I couldn't see it. When I removed the process, it fixed the problem! Thanks! Greatly appreciated!

    Close launcher.

    Thanks a ton, changing that file got my update going. Mine was not at any percent just said updating complete. I had not played in 8-9 months so I knew there had to be some patching to be done. Now downloading several gigs of updates! Thanks again!

    This is a reply to Fappelboomgaard's fix in case it did not show.

    Just for future reference if adjusting the launcher setting file follow this to avoid folder bloat as this is a different game install and blows the hdd space used if not followed.

    In regards to @Anacrhonism issue and to save a new game install, if it just said updating complete and no play button most common resolution is a quick fix.

    Press Windows key + R and type

    services.msc

    press enter and ensure the bitraider mini support service stub loader is started , symptom of it not started is 100% complete and if try to re-install it will sit at 0% and not download.

    Wanted to login and say Fappelboomgaard's solution worked for me. 

    I also added launcher.exe to my exceptions in my anti-virus program (Windows Defender).

    Thanks for this! Was a days long problem.
